Volaris, the ultra-low-cost Mexican airline that operates in Mexico, the United States, Central and South America, registered a 28 percent increase in its seat offer during 2022, by transporting five million customers and consolidating itself as the low-cost operator largest at destination.
Volaris connects Cancun with 23 routes and a fleet of 18 aircraft dedicated to the market. Since its start of operations in March 2006, the airline has transported 31 million passengers to this destination.
“Cancun leads the list of destinations with the greatest air connectivity. The Ministry of Tourism estimates that the associated economic income exceeded eleven million dollars last year. In addition to the obvious tourist potential of the market, Cancun is a strategic point for those looking for beach and recreation places at a 'short distance' regardless of which part of the country they arrive from,” said Omar Carrera, commercial director of Volaris.

Volaris is the airline with the largest market share in Mexico (42 percent). During 2022, it transported 30.9 million passengers, grew its fleet from 101 to 117 aircraft and its routes from 185 to 200, consolidating itself as the largest airline in the country for the fourth consecutive year.
