Royal Hotéis registers growth of more than 18% in 2022

The total income obtained by the company reflects the recovery of the average daily rate

In 2022, Royal Hotéis recorded revenues of BRL 59 million, which represents a growth of approximately 270% compared to 2021, when it reached BRL 16 million. Considering, however, that 2020 and 2021 were atypical periods for the market as a whole due to the impacts of COVID, the company maintains the comparison with 2019, when it recorded revenues of R$34.3 million.

Taking into account the same five hotels in operation in the period, Royal achieved in 2022 revenues of R$ 40.6 million, a growth equivalent to 18% compared to the results of 2019. “After a year of recovery and transition , 2019 continues to be our biggest mirror, and comparisons with the pre-pandemic period make more sense in relation to the results of 2022”, says Acácio Pinto, CEO of Royal Hotéis.

As a result of the growth of more than 38% in the average daily rate, compared to the accumulated rate of 2019, the result also reflects an increase in Full RevPar of 59%. The network occupancy rate decreased, reaching (–) 5.9% compared to the year in question. “The index achieved was driven by the recovery of prices, as well as by income in F&B, events, coworking, parking, as well as better expense management, which generated a 78.5% increase in GOP (Gross Operating Profit) compared to 2019”, highlights Acácio.

In 2022, almost 130,000 nights were sold, which represents a growth of 72% compared to 2021. "Although we went through 2022 with a still fragile economy, in a slow recovery process and in an electoral year with strong polarization, we managed to have a performance" declares Acacio.

By 2023, Royal Hotéis expects to exceed BRL 95 million in revenue, which would represent a 60% increase in revenue compared to 2022. “Our expectation for this year is to adjust rates, further increase our average daily rate, and scale the occupancy of the hotels, including those that joined the chain last year”, highlights Acácio.

EXPANSION

In 2022, the company converted three hotels: Castro's Park Goiânia (GO), Hotel Fazenda Sertão Veredas, in Paraopeba (MG) and Hotel Ferraz Pouso Alegre (MG). In addition, the company signed a commercial alliance with the Charlie hotel chain, adding more than 1,000 rooms to its sales portfolio.

Royal Hotéis reached the end of 2022 with eight hotels in its portfolio: Castro's Park Hotel, Hotel Fazenda Sertão Veredas, Hotel Ferraz Pouso Alegre, Royal Boutique Savassi, Royal Boutique Jardins, Royal Golden Savassi, Royal Design Savassi, Royal Center Lourdes, in addition to from Charlie's hosting portfolio. “The alliance with Charlie expands our representation in the hotel market and our experience in the Long Stay accommodation segment”, celebrates Acácio.

This year, the company has already incorporated the Hotel Vila Rica Campinas, adding another 96 apartments to the chain. "We started this year with the entry of this important hotel in Campinas, whose restoration project will surely consolidate Vila Rica as the most traditional hotel in the region, bringing innovations in services, products, and investments in new income-generating areas," says Acácio. , which also specifies that "Royal Hotels has signed contracts for new projects in its inventory, which will expand its operations in the Leisure and Events segment."

By 2023, the executive also expects Royal to maintain its growth in revenue and GOP (Gross Operating Profit). "In addition to always being focused on improving the performance of our hotels and evolving with the expansion of our portfolio, we are planning to act with new products and brands, with new contractual models and in new markets," he says.

INVESTMENTS

The last 18 months were also marked by extensive investments in modernization. More than R$ 10 million were invested in renovations in the five Royal Flag hotels, whether heritage hotels or SCP. According to the executive director of Royal Hotéis, the purpose of the reforms was to bring modernization and greater flexibility to clients. “We made important changes, with remodeling in the common area environments, in the event areas and in the technological resources, so that our guests can enjoy all the comfort and new services. All these improvements are aimed at adjusting the products to the new profiles of guests and customers, in addition to increasing the return on invested capital for our shareholders through better income;

The company also increased its workforce in 2022, reaching a total of 388 professionals. “With the end of the pandemic and the advancement of tourist activities, the hotel sector is optimistic, so much so that last year we hired 148 people. This number demonstrates the impact of the sector in the country and its potential contribution to economic recovery, based on the generation of employment and development”, celebrates Acácio.
