TagAirlines, the flag carrier of Guatemala and the Mundo Maya, signed an interline agreement with its partner Iberia, which will allow travelers from Europe to have direct access to Mundo Maya destinations in Central America and southern Mexico.

The interline agreement strengthens the alliance in favor of air connectivity. Both companies lead a joint cooperation effort, with the aim of strengthening air connectivity.

With this mechanism, the route network is expanded to offer passengers a greater choice of destinations in connection with other airlines. The agreement is focused on promoting the interconnectivity of European traffic and TagAirlines' domestic and international routes.

In this way, travelers from Europe will have access to the 47 daily flights operated by TagAirlines in five countries: Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Belize, as well as southern Mexico (Cancun, Mérida, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Tapachula and Oaxaca). with a modern commercial fleet of 12 aircraft, which allows the connectivity that the Mundo Maya needed so much to promote a multi-destination option in the region.

Julio Gamero, CEO of TagAirlines, highlighted that the recently established alliance with Iberia will directly benefit international passengers, who will have a greater range of travel destinations at their disposal.

Iberia is considered the main airline in Spain, with operations since 1927. In recent years the company has undergone one of the biggest transformations in its history, becoming a modern, digital, dynamic and efficient airline.

TagAirlines is a 100 percent Guatemalan company that for 60 years has maintained a firm commitment to air connectivity and economic development. The company is experiencing a new era that includes the modernization of its fleet with ATR 72 aircraft, considered the most modern and efficient of its type, which will allow it to fly to more destinations in the region.
