Taking as a framework the realization of version number 42 of the Anato Tourist Showcase, next Thursday, February 23 from 6 in the afternoon to 9 at night, Copa Airlines and PROMTUR Panama, the marketing organization of Panama as a tourist destination, will offer a cocktail at the Hilton Bogotá Corferias Hotel for travel agents, tour operators and journalists in Bogotá in order to introduce them to the tourist attractions and heritage of the neighboring country, and to continue promoting the Panama Stopover program offered in partnership with Copa Airlines.

The Panama Stopover program allows you to enjoy two destinations for the price of one, making a stopover in Panama, on your outbound or return flight, with no additional airfare cost. The Stopover must be requested at the time of purchase and original issuance of the ticket and the stay in Panama can be from 24 hours to 6 nights/7 days. This allows the business or tourist traveler to maximize the enjoyment of their trip by combining destinations. This program is only available with Copa Airlines, which flies to Panama from 11 cities in Colombia, with more than 150 frequencies per week, and connects it with the Caribbean, North, Central and South America through the Hub of the Americas®, located at Tocumen International Airport, in Panama City.

“One of our main objectives is to promote tourism in Panama. Thanks to the work we have been doing with the Panama Stopover program hand in hand with Promtur, we have managed to promote this country as one of the most attractive destinations for travelers on the continent, providing them with more benefits since it offers them the opportunity to discover two destinations for the price of one and by attracting a greater number of tourists, through the Panama Stopover, a significant contribution has been made to the development of the economy of the isthmus, becoming one of the biggest bets of Copa Airlines to strengthen the tourism sector in the region ”, affirmed Christophe Didier, Vice President of Sales and Distribution of Copa Airlines.

Panama is an ideal and easily accessible destination for all travelers and has a multitude of tourist options, including beautiful landscapes, paradisiacal beaches and a diverse range of experiences to enjoy. It is the center of an active cosmopolitan life and ancient cultures; of modernity and tradition; it is home to countless species, mysterious jungles and beautiful sun-drenched beaches on both oceans. In addition, it has a very pleasant climate throughout the year.

“We are pleased to work hand in hand with Copa Airlines through the Stopover program to offer all those who connect through our hub in Panama the opportunity to publicize the unique cultural and tourist experiences of our country, giving rise to stimulating moments through endless activities, such as the appreciation of its exceptional historical heritage, visits to ethnic communities, natural parks, beaches, and of course, the Panama Canal”, said Fernando Fondevila, general director for PROMTUR Panama.

Panama is an excellent destination that offers visitors the beauty of its landscapes, its rich culture and endless tourist activities available to everyone. In the capital, Panama City, the clubs, casinos and modern skyscrapers contrast with the colonial buildings of Casco Antiguo and the jungle of the Metropolitan Natural Park. Tourists from all over the world visit it and discover a beautiful cosmopolitan city, with all the comforts expected of a business and tourism center.

Getting to Panama is very easy. It can be done on a direct flight or by very easy connections from the main cities of North, Central or South America. Tocumen International Airport is located 24 kilometers from the center of Panama City. It is one of the most important air terminals in Latin America by number of destinations, operating flights to and from more than 70 cities in America, Asia and Europe, covering a large part of Latin America. It is also the main hub of operations for Copa Airlines. The second phase of expansion of the airport has allowed it to increase its capacity by 50%, now allowing it to handle up to 7 million passengers per year.

Thanks to the flow of passengers that travel daily to Panama, it is very important that travel agents, operators and journalists get to know first-hand the unique cultural, natural and tourist experiences of the country, giving rise to stimulating moments through endless activities such as the appreciation of its exceptional historical heritage, visits to ethnic communities, natural parks, paradisiacal beaches, shopping and, of course, a visit to the Panama Canal, which make this country an attractive destination throughout the year.
