GUANAJUATO 
Guanajuato is the capital of the state, founded in 1570, and a world heritage site. It is a mining city that offers extraordinary panoramic views due to its topography among beautiful hills, alleys full of color, tunnels, subway streets, iconic mummies, colonial-style architecture, and more. 
It is one of the main scenarios of the struggle for Independence, which makes it a place with sites of great historical and cultural importance.

San Miguel de Allende is declared a World Cultural Heritage city.

Guanajuato is the most important colonial tourist destination in Mexico due to the diversity of its attractions such as its six Magical Towns, two Heritage Cities, the five Archaeological Zones and the Tourist Whereabouts that attract local, national, and international visitors.

It is the fifth most visited state in the country, offering cultural activities, fairs, gastronomy, natural attractions, and intern

ational festivals. During the first quarter of 2019 alone, it received 14.9 million visitors.

By tradition, it is considered the State of cultural tourism par excellence, however, other branches of the tourism industry have recently flourished, such as adventure, romance, gastronomy, wellness, and business.
