The 42 Vitrina Turística de ANATO 2023 ended with great success

The preliminary figure for the closure of the days of the event in entry of participants was 38,000, which meant an increase of 40%, compared to 2022

Tourism from Colombia and the world came together in one place, during the three days of the 42 Vitrina Turística de Vitrina Turística de ANATO 2023, a space in which more than 1,200 exhibitors and co-exhibitors established successful meetings to thus strengthen the offer of experiences tourist attractions that travelers will enjoy in the upcoming holiday seasons.  

For this opportunity, the preliminary figure for the closing of the days of the event in the entry of participants was 38,000, which meant an increase of 40%, when compared to 2022. In addition, the Appointment Scheduling tool, created by Vitrina Turística de ANATO to facilitate the meetings between the participants, reached more than 14,000 meetings.

“We highlight the role played by the Dominican Republic and San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina as Guest of Honor Destinations, and protagonists of this version. The Vitrina Turística de ANATO is undoubtedly the scene of good news for Colombia”, said Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of the union.

As every year, color and creativity stood out at the stands of national destinations, and Nariño, Pasto and Quindío were the first, second and third place winners, respectively, of this version.

During the afternoon of the event, the Minister of Transportation, Guillermo Reyes, toured the stands and, in line with what was stated by the President of the Republic, Gustavo Petro, highlighted tourism as the fundamental axis of the decarbonized transition.

Likewise, he affirmed the importance of investment in infrastructure. “We have objectives set at large airports such as Rionegro, Bogotá, Santa Marta, San Andrés, Riohacha, and Cali. And the renovation of some of the Pacific, Nariño, Amazonia, Cauca, Huila and Valle is already taking place, which will help to revitalize the economy," he explained.

For his part, the Vice Minister of Tourism, Arturo Bravo, emphasized the success of the Vitrina Turística de ANATO  as a space for meeting tourism objectives, leaving an image to transform Colombia into a more sustainable destination, and as a commitment to inclusive and regenerative growth.

Finally, the Vice President of Tourism of Procolombia, Gilberto Salcedo, released the preliminary figures with 55% of the appointments reported in the Colombia Travel Mart macro-raid, in which 38 million dollars in business expectations were reached, 273 Colombian businessmen , 225 international businessmen from 31 countries. And he highlighted that the five countries that generated the greatest number of businesses were: Canada, the United States, Venezuela, Mexico, Peru and Chile.

“We close this version of the event convinced, once again, of the great union of this sector; of the desire of all to work articulated in favor of having that tourism that we dream of; and for continuing to demonstrate the richness of each destination. We highlight the offer of products, such as ethnic tourism, responsible tourism, community tourism and tourism focused on popular arts. As well as the participation, for the first time of Nicaragua, the return of Venezuela”, pointed out Paula Cortés Calle.
