Viva appoints Francisco Lalinde as president and interim CEO

Viva announces the appointment of Francisco Lalinde as president and interim CEO of the airline. Lalinde has 30 years of experience in the airline industry, having been part of the Viva team for almost four years and serving as Vice President of Operations (COO) to date. As of today, he replaces Félix Antelo, who yesterday notified the board of directors of his resignation citing health problems.

"On behalf of the more than 1,000 Viva employees, we thank Félix for his leadership, vision and, above all, for being a clear example of the #AtitudViva, which is what makes us unique as an airline, company and team", Lalinde said. “In my new role, I will continue to do what Felix has done on our behalf for the last five years: keep communication open with our team and make sure we give it our all for Viva,” she said.

Viva's board of directors expresses its full support for Lalinde, while expressing its gratitude to Félix Antelo for his unconditional dedication to Viva and its workers, as well as for leaving an indelible mark on the Colombian airline industry.

Viva will continue to benefit the Colombian public, for which it is necessary for Aerocivil to act quickly to approve the pending transaction and thus allow the company to become part of a larger and more solid group of airlines.
