Mallorca, an ideal setting for any sport discipline

The Balearic island has a variety of events scheduled in March and April, such as the XIX Classic Rally Isla de Mallorca, Galatzó Trail Mallorca 2023 and Portocolom International Triathlon, among others

Mallorca offers the possibility of practicing an infinite number of sports with a unique landscape and a stable and pleasant climate, such as cycling, golf, underwater activities, water sports, horse riding, hiking, Nordic walking or adventure sports. And for this reason, it is a perfect territory for the organization of sporting events that will take place during the months of March and April, such as:

Galatzó Trail Mallorca 2023  

On March 12, the Galatzó Trail Mallorca 2023 will be held, starting at 8:00 a.m. This event runs entirely through the Es Galatzó Public Estate, in the municipality of Calvià, with more than 1,400 hectares of natural landscape. In addition, it has two races: Galatzó Legend, 43 kilometers long, and Galatzó Half, 23 kilometers long.

XIX Classic Rally Isla de Mallorca

From March 9 to 11, the XIX Isla Mallorca Rally will be held, one of the five best events of the year in this privileged place in the Mediterranean. A three-day rally, 14 sections with more than 500 kilometers and three categories (competition, youngtimers and regularity) that manages to attract drivers from all over Europe.  

With a logistics staff of more than 150 professionals, this event has become a benchmark in terms of security and organization. With a 90% repeat rate, it clearly spells out the quality and enjoyment of the riders who take part year after year.

Majorca Spartans 2023

On March 18, the Mallorca Spartan 2023 will take place in Palma. An event in the best natural environment where thousands of Spartans from all over Europe will meet. It has different types: Sprint 5K and 20 obstacles, with a medium positive slope, and Super 10K with 25 obstacles, with a high positive slope. Also, Kids Race 1-3K plus obstacles.

The Spartan obstacles are designed to test the mental and physical strength of the participants.

Salt de Tramuntana Majorca

On March 18, the same day as the Mallorca Spartan 2023, in La Selva, Salt de Tramuntana will be held, a cyclo-sports event whose objective is to do the greatest number of laps on a 21.4-kilometre circuit for three hours and half. It is worth mentioning that it has several categories: Junior, Sub-23, Elite, Master 30, Master 40, Master 50 and Master 60.

XXX Media Marathon City of Palma & XI 10Km Port of Palma

On March 19 this year, the 30th edition of the XXX Media City of Palma Marathon will be held, and the 11th 10Km Port of Palma. Its route covers from Avenida Antoni Maura, next to S'Hort del Rei, to the Parc de la Mar, in front of the Cathedral of Palma, passing through the Paseo Marítimo, the Paseo Sagrera, the Autovía de Levante and the center of Palma .

Portocolom International Triathlon  

On April 2, the 25th edition of the Triathlon Portocolom will be held in Portocolom (Felanitx), chosen several times as the best event in the community. The competition offers two distances in which to participate and takes into account different categories (JUNIOR, SUB23, SENIOR, VET1, VET2, VET3 and TEAMS).

Distance 111 consists of 1,000m swimming, 100km cycling and 10km running while distance 55.5 consists of 500m swimming, 50km cycling and 5km running.  

SAR Princess Sofia Trophy

From April 1 to 9, the Her Royal Highness Princess Sofia Trophy will take place, an annual sailing competition for light sailing boats that has been held on the island of Mallorca since 1968. It is currently organized by the Real Club Náutico de Palma, the Club Náutico El Arenal and Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa.

Half Marathon Magaluf

On April 22 in Magaluf (Calvià) the Half Marathon Magaluf will take place, the best half marathon in Mallorca according to its organizers and it has two distances, 21km or 10km. The finish point is the Magaluf Athletics Track.

Long Course Weekend: Mallorca Swim and Mallorca Marathon

On April 21, 22 and 23 in Colonia Sant Jordi the Long Course Weekend will be held, a three-day event that includes two disciplines (swimming and running) with six different distances to suit all levels. This fun format is ideal for clubs, training groups and families who want to enjoy a few days of competition together surrounded by the incredible landscapes of the island of Mallorca.  

On Friday, as soon as the adventure begins, the athletes will have to complete one of the two distances selected for the Mallorca Swim: 1.9km or 3.8km. To end the weekend, the athletes will complete the Mallorca Marathon, a race of 42'2km, 21'1km, 10km or 5km.

MAJORCA 312  

On April 29, in Platja de Muro, MALLORCA 312 – International Cycling Tour will take place on the largest of the Balearic Islands, one of the most demanding cycling challenges of the season. As in its previous editions, the event offers three routes to the participants that cross the island: 312, 225 and 167 kilometers.

It is important to note that the route is closed to traffic so that participants can enjoy guaranteed safety. In addition, the organization limits participation to 8,000 cyclists to give the appropriate quality to its participants.
