During the first two months of the year, Puerto Vallarta registered an increase in the number of arrivals of passengers who arrived by air in the city, once again consolidating itself as one of the preferred destinations for national and international travelers.
Data from the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP) indicates in its most recent report that during this month of February the Puerto Vallarta International Airport presented a growth of 31.9%, compared to the same period last year, thus moving a total of 614,600 passengers, of which 183,500 were national and 431,100 international.
These figures are added to the excellent results obtained last January, where the airport terminal achieved a total increase in passengers of 46.5%, positioning itself in first place in the highest number of passenger arrivals during that month, above the airports. from Los Cabos, Guadalajara and Tijuana. In addition, increases of 39.5% and 50.3% stood out, which meant 226,200 and 460,900 national and international passengers respectively, compared to the same period last year.
Thanks to its excellent connectivity, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport has received 1,301,700 passengers from Mexico, the United States, Canada and Europe in this first two-month period of the year, which speaks of the importance of this air terminal for different sectors, such as the tourist and commercial.
It should be noted that the destination has been marking an increasing trend since the beginning of 2023 in tourism, since in addition to obtaining high records in passenger arrivals, the green pearl of the Mexican Pacific registered 82.7% in hotel occupancy nationwide during the first holiday bridge of the year, 15% more than in 2022, positioning itself as the number one beach destination in the country, so Puerto Vallarta continues to be the preference of national and foreign visitors who seek the best tourist options for sun and sand, romance, gastronomy , LGBTQ+, ecotourism and luxury, among other alternatives.
