For its part, the Jalisco Secretary of Tourism stated: “this news reflects that Puerto Vallarta maintains a constant and growing flow of tourism, which in turn requires an increase in the number of seats and scheduled flights, to thus providing passengers with more facilities to visit us. According to the most recent monitoring by Datatur, during February 2023, the destination remained in first place in the country in percentage of hotel occupancy. In addition, according to data from the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico, only during January the Puerto Vallarta airport was positioned within the three nationals with the highest arrival of international tourists, receiving more than 222 thousand; a figure that exceeded that of January 2022 by 57.6%”.

The state of Jalisco has a strong tourist vocation, this being an important source of income and economic benefit for the entity, since according to the State Secretary of Tourism (Secturjal), in 2022 Jalisco had an influx of visitors of 30.5 million people, highlighting the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area (15.8 million) and Puerto Vallarta (5.9 million) as two of the main destinations.
