After the successful participation in the FITUR (Spain), BIT (Italy) and ITB (Germany) fairs and the commercial meetings in Brussels and Amsterdam during the first quarter of the year, Argentina reaffirmed its good position in Europe. On this occasion, the destination was the United Kingdom, where the INPROTUR team appeared on March 14, 15 and 16 in the English cities of Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester, respectively, to attend the LATA (Latin American Travel Association) Travel Agent Roadshow.
The association's main objective is to promote Latin America as a tourist destination and stimulate the growth of trips to the region. In this way, this action in England allowed the national delegation to meet with all the independent travel agents, tour operators, and home office workers from each of the three cities. Meetups are geared toward high-end attendees who specialize in high-income, long-distance vacations.
With an average of 50 work appointments in each city, Argentina's participation was very productive, with strong interest from British trade in classic destinations such as Buenos Aires, Iguazú, the North, Mendoza and its wines, and Patagonia. However, it was also noted that the attendees sought to learn about the country's wide offer and learn in detail those places or products that are not so well known.
The arrivals of travelers from the United Kingdom to the country come in full post-pandemic recovery. In the last quarter of 2022, 65 percent of those who arrived in the same period of 2019 -pre-pandemic- recovered, and in February of this year the recovery was 75 percent compared to the same month three years ago.
