The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, and the Head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, cut the ribbon for the 47th edition of the Tianguis Turístico México 2023, Mexico City, with which Activities were officially started.
Also accompanied by governors and governors, secretaries of Tourism, leaders of Associations and Chambers, and officials of the three levels of Government, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) assured that as he had anticipated, this Tourist Tianguis has already broken all marks of previous editions.
For her part, the Head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum, thanked Secretary Torruco Marqués for the great work done to carry out this important tourism fair, which is being held for the first time in Mexico City.
“This is a wonderful space that shows the beauty of each of the states of the Republic, of Mexico City, of companies, tour operators, everything that has to do with tourism in our country. This place is actually not only a door to Mexico City, but also an open door to our country”, she emphasized.
Likewise, Torruco Marqués, Sheinbaum Pardo, and Margarita González Arabia, general director of the National Lottery, carried out the unveiling of the National Lottery ticket, commemorating the 47th edition of the Tianguis Turístico.
Margarita González emphasized that the lottery pieces carry the image allusive to the Tianguis Turístico México 2023 with great color and full of national identity, where cultural aspects are represented, as well as the jaguar and the feathered serpent, typical of our ancestral pre-Hispanic cultures.
As part of the academic sessions that will take place within the framework of the Tianguis Turístico 2023, Torruco Marqués attended the Keynote Conference presented by Rosario Marín, the first woman born in Mexico to hold the position of Treasurer of the United States of America.
Rosario Marín thanked the Secretary of Tourism for the opportunity to share her career at this conference, and reiterated her commitment to serve as Mexico's ambassador in the different destinations around the world that she visits.
She assured that in Mexico she has always felt safe and delighted, and highlighted the fraternal hospitality of the Mexican. Likewise, he highlighted the great opportunity that tourism provides for the growth and development of Mexico.
At the stand of the state of Oaxaca, the Secretary of Tourism, accompanied by the Head of Government, presented Governor Salomón Jara Cruz with the appointment of Jalatlaco as the Magical Neighborhood, the first in the state of Oaxaca to join this initiative promoted by Sectur to diversify tourism.
"On this historic day, the more than 500 years of this neighborhood are recognized, which over time has become a site of great cultural value and a meeting point for Oaxacan families," said Governor Jara Cruz.
As part of the commitment to highlight the importance of inclusion and accessibility as the axis of the economic development of the tourism industry, the head of Sectur and the head of government inaugurated the Inclusion Pavilion, which is presented for the third time at the Tianguis Turístico, in coordinated work with various civil society organizations.
Likewise, in this edition of the most important fair in the tourism sector in Latin America, there was, for the first time, an airline pavilion, where Torruco Marqués, when cutting the inaugural ribbon, highlighted their role as important allies in the impulse of the connectivity of our country.
With the above, airlines such as Turkish Airlines, AraJet, Avianca and Air France, as well as the Felipe Ángeles International Airport, are located in the same space.
With authorities from Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Mexico, as well as representatives of Tag Airlines and Tren Maya, he inaugurated the Mundo Maya pavilion.
He argued that for there to be an authentic Mayan World there must be integration, coordination and connectivity, and the realization of this pavilion is part of the joint work between the countries that make it up to consolidate this important product.
At the Stand of the General Directorate of Tourist Services Ángeles Verdes, a collaboration agreement was signed with the governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama Espinosa, and the municipal president of Solidaridad, Lili Campos, in favor of road tourism.
Torruco Marqués, accompanied by the Secretary of Tourism of Quintana Roo, Bernardo Cueto Riestra, and by the general director of Ángeles Verdes, Alejandro Zúñiga Bernal, recalled that this institution is undergoing a process of renovation, after 20 years of abandonment, with the start-up of the Geointelligence Center, development of the app for mobile devices and delivery of new uniforms.
In the same sense, at the Baja California stand, a collaboration agreement was signed with the governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, to strengthen the work of the Green Angels in the entity.
In the company of the Secretary of Tourism of Nayarit and president of the Association of Secretaries of Tourism of Mexico (ASETUR), Juan Enrique Suarez Del Real Tostado, began the activities in the Islas Marías pavilion, an anchor product example of integration, and fundamental factor to respond to the needs, requirements and expectations of an increasingly informed and demanding tourist
Continuing with the consolidation of the anchor products, Torruco Marqués participated in the inauguration of the stand of the Cantinflas Museum, where you can find various elements that were part of his career
The Tabasco pavilion was attended by Dea Isabel Estrada, wife of the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, who recognized the excellent organization of this Tianguis Turístico, and highlighted the role of tourism for the development of Mexico.
