Chihuahua promoted its attractions at Tianguis 2023

The 31 states and Mexico City participated in the important tourist fair Tianguis 2023. There we spoke with the Secretary of Tourism of Chihuahua, Edibray Gomez Gallegos.

What is the differential offered by Chihuahua?

-Chihuahua is the largest state in the country, with an extension of more than 260 thousand kilometers. In addition, we have 3 wine routes in different areas, and approximately 67 producers, with more than 120 labels. 

What are the most visited attractions?

-In terms of attractions, we have the world's longest zipline in Sierra Tarahumara in the middle of Copper Canyon, which is three times the size of Colorado Canyon. We also have a cable car that crosses all the biodiversity present in Sierra Tarahumara.

Is tourism the main activity of the state?

-See, Chihuahua has 67 municipalities, of which 50 have a direct tourist vocation, from cultural, revolutionary and independence issues, to current issues. 

What kind of tourism is central?

-Chihuahua is rich in biodiversity, so we have a lot of cars. In the Samalayuca Dunes, to the north, where some films have been shot, is where those who enjoy meditation and encounters with nature go, and it is sensational. In the north we have Ciudad Juárez, with business tourism, which is the main one, migratory tourism and medical or health tourism. Of course we have statewide adventure tourism, relaxation. And although we don't have a beach, we are among the 6 most visited states in Mexico.
