The Chilean airline SKY, whose purpose is to make the sky available to everyone, announced that, with the aim of promoting tourism in the Magallanes Region, it will fly for the first time in the months of June, July and August to Puerto Natales, becoming in the only airline that currently offers flights on that date to the city throughout the year and not just seasonally.
In this way, in addition to the fact that the flights will be operational throughout the year, people will be able to fly to this city in the months of the winter season with 3 weekly frequencies in June and 4 in July and August from $35,990 per flight, not including shipping fees.
"As we know that there are many people, both Chilean and foreign, who would like to visit Torres del Paine or the Balmaceda or Serrano Glaciers during the winter season, as SKY we have decided to enable our flights throughout the year and not just seasonally to Puerto Natales. In this way, travelers will be able to visit the attractions of the area by landing directly at the airport closest to the Park, without having to go through Punta Arenas,” said Fernandez.
The national director of Sernatur, Cristóbal Benítez, highlighted "as the National Tourism Service, we are convinced that part of the recovery of tourism activity at the national level depends on our connectivity. Air connectivity is key in this process. We are very happy to this Sky announcement that it will operate direct flights from Santiago to Puerto Natales and Chiloé throughout the year, which will reduce seasonality in these destinations, being able to do tourist activity throughout the year".
The tourism authority added that "this is good news that is also combined with the call of the hotels and unions, which have agreed to be operating throughout the year." Likewise, this week SKY launched the "April Viajes Mil" campaign, which seeks to boost national tourism with up to a 40% discount for travel between April 24 and June 30 and will be available from April 10 to 13. . Under this context, passengers will be able to fly from Santiago to Puerto Natales from $29,990, which translates into a 17% discount compared to the traditional rate. Passengers will also be able to fly directly from Puerto Montt with rates starting at $22,990, which is equivalent to a 21% discount.
