This weekend the cities of Rivera and Livramento had a 100% hotel occupancy as various activities were carried out, not only sports, but also gastronomic, musical shows and political party activities.
The city of Rivera received thousands of Brazilian tourists but also a lot of internal tourism when the second stage of the Formula Truck was held, the stage of the Salto Automóvil Club, the 9th edition of the ChoriCeva Festival that took place in the Plaza Internacional, as well as in Tranqueras the Feast of Sharecroppers.
To all those events; Added to this is the arrival of buses that go for the day to do shopping tourism in the center of the city where the Free Shops are located. For the hotel operators it was a full occupancy weekend and it will last for two more weeks. The next weekend is a long holiday in Brazil and then comes the long weekend of May 1st here in our country.
The National Director of Tourism, Roque Baudean, was satisfied with the data reported by private operators as well as with the movement that could be registered at the level of all services, such as gastronomic establishments.
That is why the Ministry of Tourism is in talks with the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leites, and the Secretary of Tourism of the same state, Vilson Covatti, with whom it was agreed to jointly promote binational destinations.
“We are taking a very important step to build a collective roadmap that orders actions and allows managing an attractive diversified offer between the border municipalities of Uruguay and Brazil before countries outside the region”, declared the National Director Roque Baudean.
With this purpose, in the second half of April, Rivera will host a meeting to plan the binational promotion strategy between perfeitos and border mayors, representatives of the municipalities and the Ministry of Tourism.
