Corporación América Airports Uruguay signs adhesion to the United Nations Global Compact

The company formalized the work that it has been carrying out in a sustained manner in compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

The United Nations Global Compact is a call to companies and organizations to focus their strategies and operations in accordance with the ten universal principles related to human rights, the environment, labor standards and the fight against corruption, among other aspects. .  

With this action, the company, which in the country manages the network of Uruguay Airports and Latin America Cargo City, reaffirmed its commitment to the work that has been carried out in the country to promote the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Sustainability is a strategic pillar for Corporación América Airports, and since the beginning of its work in Uruguay twenty years ago, it has carried out various projects, initiatives and actions aimed at contributing to sustainable development.

"Our mission is to bring Uruguay closer to the world, and our goal is to always do so in a sustainable way, respectful of the environment, caring for the use of resources and supporting the development of the communities in which we are present," explained Diego Arrosa, CEO of America Airports Corporation in Uruguay.

In addition to having an environmental policy based on the alignment of business objectives with the responsible management of the use of resources and environmental and social impacts. Among other actions, in 2018 the Carrasco International Airport was the first in Latin America to have a photovoltaic solar plant for the production of clean energy for use in its passenger terminal.
