According to HotelPlanner, the rates in Liverpool city centre for May 2023 are up over 200% year on year for four and five-star properties, and hotel bookings are fast being taken up, meaning the majority of rooms left in the city centre are apartments which are going for between £500 - £900 pounds a night.

"This is an increase of £150 - £300 per night compared to May 2022. For more affordable options, travellers to the city for Eurovision might want to consider staying on the outskirts of the city. Two and three-star properties around 10 miles or more outside the city centre are still reasonably priced around the £100 mark per night", says Tim.

However, those who still want to stay in city centre can find some of the best deals at Hotelplanner.com as the website offers great savings, for instance:

  • 41% off - £291.15 per night instead of £501.12 at Holiday Inn Liverpool City Centre an IHG Hotel
  • 27% off - £275.50 per night instead of £377.45 at Doubletree by Hilton Hotel & Spa Liverpool

Those who are not ready to spend x2 or x3 on accommodation can consider staying in the nearby towns with reasonable offers, such as:

  • Village Hotel Wirral from £189.35 per night, 9.8 mi (15.8 km) from Chester Zoo and 4.8 mi (7.8 km) from Liverpool Pier Head Ferry Terminal
  • Travelodge Bromborough from £149.59, 40 min by train to Liverpool
