As part of Hyatt's commitment to drive environmental action to ensure that its destinations around the world offer guests, clients, owners and communities a vibrant experience, a series of sustainable measures have been put in place at all of its properties in the region.   

Hyatt's social and environmental sustainability goals are based on focusing on what is important to communities, guests, customers and owners. The company understands the importance of focusing on areas that support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, helping to ensure a broader and long-term positive impact. For this reason, Hyatt created its World of Care program, which covers fundamental topics such as Caring for the Planet, through which Hyatt has reaffirmed its commitment to protect the Earth by reducing its environmental impact and conserving natural resources.

Andaz Mexico City Condesa 

This new property has a series of sustainability measures, one of which focuses on the efficient use of water. All rooms are equipped with low consumption toilets, which use six liters of water per flush, less than a third of what a normal toilet consumes! The property's sinks and showers use a system to avoid wasting water.   

Another area of ​​water efficiency is the property's kitchen, where fruit and vegetables are sanitized in containers of water instead of using a stream of water. The water from these containers is then used to clean the corridors and walls of the hotel. 

Regarding the responsible use of energy in the property, they have a comprehensive maintenance strategy to promote energy efficiency in the air conditioning system, kitchen areas, and hotel boilers. Andaz Mexico City Condesa has six high-efficiency boilers that help prevent heat loss. 

Finally, another of the many sustainability measures that the establishment has implemented is the use of Prannus lamps, made by hand in Aguascalientes, a state located in central Mexico, purchased by Hyatt as part of a fair trade system that supports to local and small businesses. 

Hyatt House Mexico City Santa Fe 

This property offers all the comforts of home along with intentionally designed accommodations and common spaces. This self-sufficient experience is complemented by programs such as its plastic-free initiative, which consists of not offering plastic water bottles. Instead, the hotel provides its guests with drinking water through a water purification system. In the hotel bathrooms, all the water comes from a water treatment plant. To save water, Hyatt House Santa Fe actively promotes a program to reduce guests' daily linen changes to educate guests about the importance of this valuable resource. 

This property also has a vegetable garden located on the hotel's terrace, where different varieties of plants such as basil, thyme and celery are grown. This garden offers guests the opportunity to connect with nature and reflect on the importance of protecting the Earth.

In addition to current measures to mitigate any negative impacts on ecosystems, Grand Hyatt Bogotá is preparing to launch HyattGreen Every Action Counts, a program that communicates the sustainability and circular economy measures the property is taking to reduce its carbon footprint. This program focuses on the use of organic waste to create biomass.   

Water consumption is also one of the main objectives of this establishment, which is why it has installed a smart meter that controls water consumption and generates a report every 30 minutes. From there, you can alert the Bogotá Water and Sewer Company (EAAB) of any spike in water consumption.  

As part of its commitment to the environment, Grand Hyatt Bogotá will participate in Carrera Verde, a race that supports reforestation efforts, raise awareness about climate change and offset the carbon footprint by planting trees. 

Hyatt Regency Cartagena 

Hyatt Regency Cartagena strives every day to be more environmentally sustainable, this includes the delivery of organic waste for composting and the use of 100% organic fertilizers. In addition, this property is working to become a plastic-free hotel, through the use of biodegradable containers, made from sugarcane bagasse, in addition to the sale of water in reusable glass containers and the placement of amenities in the rooms in dispensers to avoid the use of small single-use plastic bottles.   

In addition, 58% of the chemical products used on the property are biodegradable, 45% of the paper used is ecological, and usable waste is recycled and donated to the Cartagena Recycling Corporation (CORECA), which benefits 30 low-income families. city ​​resources.

This property offers its guests composting classes, helping them discover ways to be more sustainable while immersing themselves in the stunning natural surroundings of this property.
