The Uruguayan Marina Cantera chairs the FEDESUD

Marina Cantera, president of the Uruguayan Chamber of Tourism, was elected to lead the South American Tourism Federation

FEDESUD brings together the national chambers and represents the private tourism sector in South America. Last Tuesday, April 25, the Annual Assembly and Elections were held in the VIP Lounge of the Carrasco International Airport, in Montevideo.

On Monday the 24th, delegates from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Peru and Venezuela arrived in the Uruguayan capital, as well as Maximiliano Mauvecín; and that afternoon, the hosts Marina Cantera, president; Francisco Rodríguez, Vice President, and Juan Martínez, former President, together with the Minister of Tourism of Uruguay, Tabaré Viera, and Doris Rodríguez, MINTUR Planning Manager, shared a welcome cocktail at the Hyatt Centric Montevideo.

On Tuesday the 25th, the FEDESUD delegates were part of CAMTUR's La Noche del Sol, which not only celebrated the election of Marina Cantera as president, but also the 30th anniversary of the Uruguayan Chamber of Tourism and the delivery of the Sol awards.
The South American Tourism Federation, FEDESUD, emerged in 2018, with a new name, since it was born in 2013 as the Business Council of T. de las Américas (CETUR). CAMTUR was a founding member and an active member ever since.
