Solbus: investment of 4 million dollars to renew the vehicle fleet

Solbus, a company of the Mobility division of Grupo Piñero dedicated to the transport of tourists, executives and employees with more than 25 years of experience in the country, announced during the last DATE 2023 held in Punta Cana, the investment of 4 million dollars for the renewal of its vehicle fleet.

Said renewal includes the incorporation of 78 new vehicles with which it is intended to double current billing, as well as going from 100 daily services to 400. Likewise, the renewal marks the beginning of an ambitious sustainable mobility plan that Solbus will seek to materialize in five years, resulting, for example, in the use of fully electric vehicles incorporating fast charging systems for accumulating energy with solar panels.

In this regard, Carlos Navarro, general director of Solbus commented: "we are happy to communicate the renewal of our fleet of vehicles, we know the importance that the tourism industry has for the economic and social development of the Dominican Republic and, therefore, all the Companies that are involved in offering tourist services have the obligation to stay at the forefront, increasingly betting on sustainable mobility”.

Within the framework of the investment announcement, Solbus highlighted the efforts in terms of training and updating that are constantly promoted for its collaborators by the National Institute for Professional Technical Training (INFOTEP): "for us the constant training of our collaborators is essential to maintain the highest standards of road safety and customer service, in this sense, hand in hand with INFOTEP we have been working to strengthen its different technical skills”, said the manager.

Solbus currently has a staff of more than 220 local collaborators who, in addition to receiving accommodation and food services benefits, have constant training focused on issues of road safety, driver education, conflict resolution, customer service and leadership.
