The event, which takes place at the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun hotel, will be attended by influential leaders from the entire tourism ecosystem.
"As the MarketHub kicks off, the excitement is growing here in Cancun with the arrival of our partners and friends from across the industry for our first regional MarketHub in three years," said Carlos Muñoz Capllonch, Hotelbeds Chief Commercial Officer. “The Hotelbeds team here, as well as our guests, are looking forward to hearing from all the speakers who are sure to provide us with great insight into our industry, inspiring everything to come.”
As MarketHub Americas gets underway, here are some highlights from
this year's conference agenda:
Mexico for MarketHub
This is the fifth time that Hotelbeds has brought its flagship event to Mexico, one of the most important markets for Hotelbeds. In recent weeks, the company has reported a 50% increase in the number of hotel nights compared to 2019, with Cancun even above it with more than 70%. More than 500 local and international executives will be in town to hear from some of the biggest names in tourism and technology, including the Hyatt Inclusive Collection, World Travel and Tourism Council and Telefónica.
Sustainability as the protagonist
Just a few weeks after Earth Day, in which Hotelbeds announced the growth of sustainable travel, the MarketHub will delve into the transformation towards green tourism and how sustainability has ceased to be an option to become a a requirement for today's travelers, who are increasingly looking for eco-friendly experiences when they travel. The World Council for Sustainable Tourism and Palace Resorts will speak to visitors about the standards they are establishing for the sector, and Discover Puerto Rico and the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) will explain how intrinsic sustainability is for the tourism.
Women in the spotlight
One of the main objectives of the conference is to show the leadership of women. This year, 12 visionary leaders will take the stage to share their views on what will undoubtedly help shape the future of travel. Speakers include Diana Martin, from NH Hotel Group (part of Minor), Paula Felstead, Director of Technology and Operations at Hotelbeds, and Irene Gómez, Director of Innovation at Telefónica.
Technological conquest
What will be the next technological revolution in the travel industry? MarketHub panelists will discuss the next steps in digitization, personalization of the traveler experience, and also unveil new tools available that can increase business opportunities. The conference will take an in-depth look at the role AI is playing, as well as how this and other innovations will alter the future of travel.
