Tourist Services of Ángeles Verdes strengthens its presence in the southeast of Mexico

The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, announced that the General Directorate of Tourist Services Ángeles Verdes will strengthen its presence in the southeast of Mexico and the Yucatán peninsula by renewing the vehicle fleet and obtaining of appropriate operating facilities.

The head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) pointed out that these actions are part of the regional strategy for the Yucatan peninsula and the southeast of the country to strengthen road tourism in the states of Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Campeche, Tabasco and Chiapas. ; which are the result of various and detailed technical analyses.

He indicated that, in these entities, some of these actions have already taken place and others are underway, in close coordination with the authorities of the three levels of government, related to the strengthening of the operational infrastructure of Ángeles Verdes, where the renovation of the vehicle fleet, the regional implementation of the replica of the Operations Management Center (CGO) and the mobile application, as well as the improvement of the catalog of real estate for logistics, under the scheme of general coordination agreements with each of the entities.

Torruco Marqués specified that, in the state of Yucatán, the Federal Government, through the National Institute of Sustainable Land (INSUS), granted the donation of the property of the property where the Headquarters of State Tourist Assistance Services operates, which that allows efficient management of financial resources.

The Secretary of Tourism reported that, at the Tianguis Turístico México 2023, held in Mexico City, the General Collaboration Agreement with the Government of Quintana Roo was signed, through which the fleet will be strengthened by adding 3 units for the routes in the entity, as well as the General Collaboration Agreement was signed with the Municipality of Solidaridad to assign a space for Green Angels in the Tourist Care and Protection Center (CAPTA), in which the CGO is replicated regionally.

In this way, an increase in efficiency will be achieved in the tourist information documented by the entity, there will be an opportunity to attend to services requested through the Ángeles Verdes mobile application, in addition to a direct link through computer systems with the local institutions that allow timely attention to road emergencies, and of course, a regional promotion of destinations through electronic platforms.

In the case of Campeche, the head of Sectur stressed that since May 2022, an office has been occupied within the Campeche XXI International Convention and Exhibition Center, by the end of this year it is expected that the entity will have 4 units in total, derived of the strategies of optimization of resources and strengthening of the vehicle fleet, which have the specific purpose of generating road circuits with coverage of Green Angels within the state that connect to tourist attractions and destinations, as well as Magical Towns.

Meanwhile, derived from the recent work tour of the state of Tabasco, Torruco Marqués affirmed that strategic analyzes are being carried out to enable the routes, and in this way provide timely coverage in accordance with infrastructure developments, and to the People Mágico de Tapijulapa, as well as with the 4 units that will be added in the 1 to 1 strategy.

As part of the regional strategy for the southeast of the country, in July 2023, in the state of Chiapas, 10 units will be delivered by the state government, which will be added to the 10 units that will be delivered by Sectur federal in the 1 to 1 strategy; There will be a link between digital platforms and the project for the regional installation of the Ángeles Verdes Operational Management Center will begin.

"Regarding the Mayan Train route, a strategy to strengthen road tourism was carried out, which raises the presence of Green Angels on the highway routes that lead to the various destinations and tourist attractions along the route of the flagship project of the current administration”, stated Torruco Marqués.

For his part, the general director of Ángeles Verdes Tourist Services, Alejandro Zúñiga Bernal, assured that, after the pandemic, the ways of doing tourism were modified, and they leaned towards nearby places with more hygienic and safer options, which reduced the danger of some contagion or damage to the integrity of the tourist, which detonated road tourism even more.

In addition, these travelers directly boost the economic flow that is generated in the communities and service providers along the highway sections, which in turn directly affect segments such as nature, health, and border tourism, among others.

In this vein, Sectur visualizes road tourism with a determining role in the internal tourist dynamics, so strengthening and potentiating the transit to the various tourist sites close to the large tourist-issuing cities is an action of impact.

The General Directorate of Tourist Services Ángeles Verdes works on three main axes: protection and assistance to tourists; tourist information and guidance; and support for tourists and the population in general, in case of emergencies of extraordinary causes such as disasters caused by natural phenomena.
