“We are permanently working on developing new proposals, as well as positioning the City's traditional and emerging tourism offer. The Tourism Weekend represents an opportunity to make visible the immense offer and promote the promotion of emerging circuits in the City, making available to tourists and residents a wide variety of options to enjoy a destination that is constantly renewed”, Lucas asserted. Delfino, president of the Tourism Entity of the City of Buenos Aires.

This initiative derives from the already well-known Tourism Night, which had two successful editions during 2022. Based on the great call for both events, the Tourism Agency of the City of Buenos Aires decided to extend the meeting over two Full days so that residents and national and international tourists can enjoy the attractions of the destination.

The Night of Tourism: the background

The first edition of the Tourism Night, which took place on May 14, was fully occupied in all the circuits that were set up for the event and thousands of people in each massive live cultural show. In addition, more than 200 gastronomic establishments, 3 embassies, 8 museums and temples and 40 hotels participated in the event.

According to data collected by the Observatory of the Tourism Entity, 57% of the people who attended the different circuits were residents of the City, although there were also visitors from Greater Buenos Aires, Tucumán, Santa Fe and Córdoba. In addition, international tourists also participated and the main markets were Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Venezuela.

For its part, in the second edition of the meeting, which was held on October 8, within the framework of the long weekend for the Day of Respect for Cultural Diversity, the national capital received more than 95,000 national and international tourists. The proposal consisted of four guided thematic circuits, three artistic shows, free catamaran rides, free access to the Tourist Bus and benefits in gastronomic venues.

In this latest installment, the number of attendees exceeded that of the same weekend but in 2019, when more than 91,000 national and international visitors arrived in the City. In addition, a hotel occupancy rate of 84% and an economic impact of more than $3,442 million were estimated.
