Uruguay participates in the 118th meeting of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization

The Vice Minister of Tourism Remo Monzeglio will represent Uruguay in the Dominican Republic, the host country of the 118th meeting of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Simultaneously, the "Dominican Republic International Tourism Forum" will be held, which will feature opening remarks by the Dominican Minister of Tourism, David Collado and Zurab Pololiskashvili, Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization.

The event will take place in Punta Cana from May 16 to 18, bringing together representatives from around the world to discuss issues related to tourism and its impacts on economic, social and sustainable development.

Prior to his departure, the Vice Minister of Tourism Remo Monzeglio, pointed out that "for Uruguay this meeting aims to reaffirm the commitment made towards sustainable and sustainable tourism, being a protagonist in the region and implementing the progress and recommendations that arise from the deliberations".

"Today more than ever it is necessary to address the fragility and vulnerability of tourism to continue growing," he said.
