Minor Hotels, owner, operator and investor of hotels, currently with a portfolio of 530 hotels and resorts in 56 countries located in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Indian Ocean added to its operations a hotel located in the north from Chile: NH Iquique Pacífico, in the Tarapacá region.
The hotel is located in the heart of the city, a few meters from the Brava and Cavancha beaches and only 30 minutes from the imposing dunes and the famous Zofri mall.
It is a hotel with 134 rooms and suites, restaurant, bar, terrace with Jacuzzi, solarium, fitness center, parking, meeting rooms with capacity from 10 to 300 people and a large hall of almost 400 square meters.
The interior design of the hotel is inspired by some elements alluding to the mining industry, one of the main activities of Iquique, therefore, the use of copper color in various elements stands out. In addition, some decorative objects related to the culture of the region have been incorporated, such as the Diablada mask, a typical dance of the place.
The gastronomy is in charge of chef Marco Pacheco and has the imprint of international cuisine, enhancing local products and flavors such as: shrimp in texture; tuna in a peanut crust, shells a la chalaca and a variety of fish and shellfish in exquisite preparations.
“This opening reaffirms our commitment to continued growth and expansion in Chile and the region, through our eight brands: Anantara, Avani, Elewana, Oaks, NH Hotels, NH Collection, Nhow and Tivoli, consolidating our position in the four and five star categories, both in urban hotels and resorts”, stated Diego Chourrout, Regional General Director of Minor Hotels for the Southern Cone.
The hotel aims to satisfy the demand for bleisure tourism, that is, that of those corporate clients who take advantage of their business trips to have one or several days off. In addition, according to Chourrout: ”Companies are beginning to see the need for reunions and events, and NH Iquique Pacífico meets all the requirements to be the hotel for conventions in the region. What's next for Minor Hotels in the Southern Cone? We aim to generate
more projects with this business model based on management”. Iquique Pacífico belongs to the NH Hotels brand: hotels that are characterized by being urban, three and four stars, and whose clients seek an excellent location with the best value for money.
With this incorporation, Minor Hotels strengthens its presence in the region by adding its second hotel in Iquique. The hotel group has a total of 23 hotels in the region: six in Chile, 16 hotels in Argentina and one hotel in Uruguay. While in Latin America it operates a total of 56 hotels.
