Hotelbeds and the Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality at the NYU School of Professional Studies (NYU SPS) have launched a collaboration to explore and inspire the next generation of technology start-ups through the company's TravelTech Lab initiative and the school's Innovation Hub (HI Hub) incubator program .

The two organizations—leaders in their respective business and academic fields—will work together over the next three years to discover disruptive ideas that drive the travel and hospitality ecosystems through new technologies aimed at improving the customer experience.

While the NYU SPS Tisch Center has a start-up program, launched in 2021, to address the various needs of the industry and companies looking to create the next generation of travel technology products, Hotelbeds entered this space earlier this year with the launch of its TravelTech Lab in collaboration with Wayra, the innovation arm of Telefónica. The goal of this initiative is to reshape the future of travel and help startups explore innovative technology solutions to change the way travelers move, connect, and explore.

The TravelTech Lab will complement the Hospitality Innovation Hub's Incubator Program, which helps NYU-affiliated start-ups plan, launch and manage their businesses by providing support and advice to help owners grow their businesses. The agreement will also open up new avenues for collaboration between businessmen in the US and Europe.

"Hotelbeds is a forward-thinking industry innovator whose values and commitment to evolving and reimagining the next generation of global travel technology align with our mission for the Tisch Center and our HI Hub initiative," said Nicolas Graf, President Professor and Associate Dean. from the NYU SPS Tisch Center. "With the support of organizations like Hotelbeds, our HI Hub and its Incubator Program will be well positioned to be the launching pad for companies and technologies that will impact our industry for years to come."

As part of the new platinum sponsorship deal, Hotelbeds will host one of the Tisch Center Incubator's future "Pitch Your Passion & Seal the Deal" competitions at the company's headquarters in Palma de Mallorca or at its TravelTech Lab in Madrid. The contest has been one of the highlights of recent semesters at the Tisch Center, where new NYU-affiliated hospitality companies have the opportunity to build their businesses and compete for prize money.

Nicolas Huss, CEO of Hotelbeds, said: "Innovation has always been part of our DNA and is at the heart of our goal to reduce friction across the entire travel ecosystem. The union of our two innovation centers is a Powerful combination. We're looking forward to seeing what initiatives the startups in the program develop and how we can work together to bring them to market."

Richie Karaburun, MD, MBA, DPS, Associate Clinical Professor and Director of the HI Center Incubator Program, said: "This relationship with Hotelbeds will bring significant value to our Incubator Program cohort and their new ventures. Hotelbeds' experience and contacts in the sector will allow our entrepreneurs to access specialized knowledge that will help them turn their companies into true players in the sector."

José María Pestaña, Chief Innovation Officer at Hotelbeds, added: "Collaborating with the NYU SPS Tisch Center of Hospitality, just two months after launching our TravelTech Lab innovation center, underscores our ambition to identify and implement disruptive ideas to redesign the experience. Not only is NYU's global presence consistent with the purpose of our lab, but this collaboration reinforces our strategy of working closely with like-minded institutions that have deep experience and knowledge in the hospitality industry to help us drive the innovation to the next level.
