Central America will participate in the World Travel Expo to promote the tourist offer

The Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA, for its acronym in English) refines details to participate in the World Travel Expo in Miami, United States, the showcase of world tourism that will hold its first edition at the Miami Airport Convention Center.

The international fair will be held with the expectation of becoming the platform par excellence for the establishment of commercial tourism alliances in the American continent. To do this, it will bring together the main destinations, institutions, industry professionals, and tourism companies, with special emphasis on Latin America, Europe, and Asia. 

In this sense, CATA together with the Central American countries will participate to publicize the main tourist attractions for the North American market, providing information on the air terminals for direct entry and connections to their destinations, as well as information regarding the entry provisions. for international travelers. 

According to data from the Central American Tourism Integration Secretariat (SITCA), the countries of Central America and the Dominican Republic received in 2022; a total of 21.2 million visitors, of which 77.4% were tourists and 22.6% hikers. 

The data corresponding to 2022, in contrast to the previous year, represent a growth of 214% of tourists and more than 69% of excursionists, influencing the increase of 89.3% in the total number of visitors, with the United States being the main issuing market of travelers to the region with 53.4% ​​of the total.
