The international fair will be held with the expectation of becoming the platform par excellence for the establishment of commercial tourism alliances in the American continent. For that purpose, it will bring together the main destinations, institutions, industry professionals, and tourism companies, with special emphasis on Latin America, Europe, and Asia.

In this respect, CATA, together with the Central American countries, will participate to publicize the main tourist attractions for the North American market, providing information on the air terminals for direct entry and connections to their destinations, as well as information regarding the entry requirements for international travelers.

According to data provided by the Central American Tourism Integration Secretariat (SITCA), the countries of Central America and the Dominican Republic received in 2022 a total of 21.2 million visitors, of which 77.4% were tourists and 22.6% were excursionists.

The data corresponding to 2022, in contrast to the previous year, represents a growth of 214% of tourists and more than 69% of excursionists, influencing the increase of 89.3% in the total number of visitors, with the United States being the main source market of travelers to the region with 53.4% of the total.

For 2023, a much more robust tourism recovery is expected, which will allow performance levels similar to those of the pre-pandemic to be achieved. For that reason, CATA continues to intensify its efforts to promote opportunity markets such as North America, participating on this occasion as a Platinum Partner of the fair.

The WTE – Miami (USA) is sponsored by the Miami-Dade Aviation Department, the operator of the Miami International Airport, with the collaboration of the Miami-Dade International Trade Consortium, the city's World Trade Center and the United States Department of Commerce.
