Mar del Plata: third place in the National Meeting Tourism Ranking

In the last count carried out in 2019 by the OETR ARG, our city was in fifth place. With the results known yesterday, Mar del Plata not only rose two places but also continues to be the main destination within the Province of Buenos Aires.  

In this sense, Bernardo Martin, President of the Municipal Tourism Entity (EMTur), explained that "we are very proud of the results obtained in the 2022 ranking, because they show that our city continues to position itself as the leading city of Meeting Tourism in Argentina at the national level. and international, and that is the result of the hard work we have been doing to capture events of various kinds and themes".

“In 2022, Mar del Plata registered a total of 747 events distributed in congresses, conventions, cultural events, sporting events, talks, conferences, exhibitions and fairs. And this year, our city registers more than 300 events to date and events of great importance continue to be counted until December 2023,” said Bernardo Martin.

The head of Tourism recalled that "as is public knowledge, in September Mar del Plata will host the ICCA Latin American & The Caribbean Summitt 2023: the most important regional event of ICCA, which represents the most notable suppliers and world leaders in the management, transport and accommodation of international meetings of more than 1,100 companies and organizations from almost 100 countries around the world”.

"The results of the Observatory encourage us to continue working meticulously in attracting events and approaching different associations, chambers and institutions with which we work together so that Mar del Plata continues to be presented as the best option for holding each event. ”, he finished.
