TagAirlines, the Guatemalan Flag Airlines and the Mundo Maya airline, reports that the third new ATR 72-500 aircraft has arrived in Guatemala, which will allow the company to continue with its fleet modernization strategy and strengthen connectivity in the region Central America and southern Mexico.
In this way, TagAirlines adds a new aircraft to its operations, out of a total of four that will soon be integrated into the company's operations. The aircraft will increase the company's capacity on its main air routes.
The new aircraft was received at the La Aurora International Airport, in Guatemala City, with the traditional water arch. The ceremony was headed by Engineer Eduardo Solórzano, VP of Operations of TAG Airlines, and Mr. Neri Ruano, Deputy Director of Civil Aeronautics of Guatemala.
It is important to remember that, in March 2022, TagAirlines signed a historic agreement with the Willis Lease Finance company, for the lease of four aircraft, as part of its fleet modernization actions.
Willis Lease Finance Corporation is an American company, headquartered in Coconut Creek, Florida, that leases aircraft, commercial aircraft engines, auxiliary power units, engine mounts, repair and overhaul coatings to airlines in 120 countries.
The ATR 72-500 type aircraft are considered the most efficient and ecological for the operation of regional fleets in the world, and have the capacity to comfortably transport 70 passengers in a spacious two-by-two seat configuration.
