For this and many other reasons, the "Wine Route in Guanajuato, Valle de la Independencia" project was recently presented, which includes the Magic Towns of Comonfort and Dolores Hidalgo CIN, as well as the World Heritage City of San Miguel de Allende. .

The objective of this route is for visitors to discover the history of wine in Mexico, taste the wines produced in the state and live unique experiences around wine. For this reason, more than 100 options to enjoy were combined in the same place, which include wine houses, lodging, gastronomy, well-being, cultural activities, and event venues, which you can include on your next trip to Guanajuato.

However, this is not just any route, since it sought to integrate all the experiences in journeys of less than 30 minutes, so that tourists and visitors who travel it will be able to see the vine fields, taste wines, enjoy experiences of relaxation, exquisite food, staying in incredible places and much more, in short-term journeys.

Along this route, visitors will be able to explore the World Heritage City of San Miguel de Allende, which has 8 vineyards, and the Sanctuary of Atotonilco, a World Heritage Site. In addition to dozens of art galleries, restaurants and boutique hotels that offer complete relaxation experiences.

We cannot leave behind the Magical Town that gave birth to the independence of our country, Dolores Hidalgo CIN, which contributes 6 vineyards to the route, however, they are not the only way to learn about the vine, since this town has the second museum dedicated exclusively to winemaking in Mexico, the Museo del Vino de Guanajuato.

The Magical Town of Comonfort was recently added to this route, which offers 2 vineyard options, but not only that, this site invites you to discover its colonial treasures and endemic landscape, while you taste the gastronomic legacy at the hands of its traditional cooks.

It is important to mention that each vineyard and experience within the route are completely different from each other and all have different leisure options around wine.

Finally, it should be noted that Guanajuato has approximately more than 40 active wine projects that produce grapes of the Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Suavignon Blanc varieties, which places the destination in fourth place nationwide in grape production.
