The Gran Meliá Iguazú hotel, operated by Meliá Hotels International since 2017, is hosting these days the Common Market Council Meeting and Summit of Heads of State of Mercosur and Associated States, which will be led by the President of Argentina, Alberto Fernandez. In addition to summoning 11 Presidents, the delegations that will participate in this summit are made up of representatives of the countries of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, as well as the Associated States: Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru and Surinam.

Likewise, the Ordinary Meeting of the Common Market Council (CMC) will be held, in which the region's Foreign Affairs Ministers will participate, together with the region's Economy Ministers. The event will constitute the culmination of the work carried out by the Argentine management in the last semester and the beginning of the new temporary Presidency, which will remain in the hands of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil.

The Gran Meliá Iguazú, recognized as the "Best Hotel in Argentina" by the World Travel Awards in 2022, is the only hotel located inside the Iguazú Falls, in the National Park that bears its name. The hotel has an exquisite international gastronomic offer in its three restaurants and four bars, including the exclusive Alter Rooftop bar, with impressive views of the falls. Gran Meliá Iguazú blends into its surroundings with an infinity pool overlooking the Devil's Throat, and in addition to offering the exceptional hospitality and service characteristic of the Gran Meliá brand, it is an unavoidable starting point for organizing tours of the Park.

For the President and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, Gabriel Escarrer, "it is an immense pride to manage the best hotel in Argentina, and even more so when this hotel is an example of integrating nature, an exuberant jungle, that surrounds it, with its landscapes incredibly diverse, its flora and its fauna. We feel honored to be able to host the Mercosur Summit and the LXII Meeting of the Common Market Council, and we hope to offer, with the essence of luxury Spanish hospitality that our Gran Meliá brand represents, the most favorable setting for the success of both events ”.
