​Iberostar Hotels & Resorts recognizes Chilean tour operators and agencies

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts continues to recognize Star Agents for their sales and brand loyalty. On this occasion, two events were held in Chile with the purpose of thanking and recognizing the trade for its constant support and to present the novelties of Iberostar hotels in this important issuing market.

Thanks to the synergy between Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, the Tour Operators and travel agencies, it has been possible to satisfy the expectations of thousands of guests seeking an unforgettable experience. According to registered figures, during 2023 Iberostar has had a sales growth in the Chilean market of 36% compared to the year 2022. The growth achieved in hotels in Brazil stands out with 256%, Jamaica with 36%, Dominican Republic with 32 % and Mexico with 31%.

Taking into account these excellent results, Iberostar recognized Tour Operators and agencies in the "Events of the Stars" in which João Abegao, Director of Markets for America; Luna Farias, Director of Distribution for the Americas; Héctor Alvarez, Business Development Director of LATAM, Dayana Vargas, Key Account Manager of Chile; Yoanki Jesús Nieves, Marketing Director of LATAM and María Eugenia Ramos, Business Development Manager of the Chilean market.

The programming included two major events in Santiago de Chile. The first was a working dinner with more than 90 participants in which awards were given to the Star Agents with the highest production. For the first time in the history of Iberostar in the Chilean market, travel agents from 13 regions of the country were received at an event: Santiago, Calama, Puerto Montt, Viña del Mar, Concepción, Temuco, Coquimbo, Talca, La Serena, Punta Arenas , Rancagua, Antofagasta and Los Angeles. The winners were: Mary Bidwell de Cocha, who obtained the 1st place in Sales of Chile; Raquel Arriagada from Travel Security was in 2nd place in Chile Sales; María Olivia Silva from LATAM Travel took 3rd place in Sales in the country; Brenda Werner from Turismo Esquerre won 1st place in Puerto Montt Sales; Paula Cea Alvarado obtained the 1st place in Sales of Viña del Mar; Sandra Gutierrez Romo from Travel Services was the 1st place winner in Temuco Sales and finally, Carolina Tolosa was established as the 1st place winner in Concepción Sales.

In the second event, the executives of the hotel chain entertained more than 30 tour operators in a meeting in which they presented the news of the hotels and continued to thank the tour operator for the constant support to achieve these results in Chile.

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has in its DNA to offer the best experience to its clients and for this reason it presents an ambitious reform plan in its hotels in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Jamaica. Around $20 million dollars are being invested to renovate more than 2,600 rooms, as well as renovated common areas such as swimming pools, bars and restaurants, and the Star Camp areas.

A great example of what Iberostar is doing is the recent complete renovation of the 528 rooms and most of the facilities at the Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus in Bayahibe. This hotel now also includes high-tech facilities in the rooms, such as Chromecast, USB sockets, new reading lamps and a modern key system connected to guests' wristbands and phones via a QR code.

Similarly, within the product reforms presented, it was commented that between the months of August and December 2023, at the Iberostar Punta Cana hotel in the Iberostar Bávaro Complex, the 347 rooms of the main building will be renovated and the Restaurant will also be renovated. from the beach "La Cana".

In 2020, the Iberostar Group implemented its sustainability commitments by advancing in a responsible tourism model, based on the following major objectives to be met during this decade:
