Winter Holidays: must-see places to visit in Córdoba

The winter holidays are coming and Córdoba continues to position itself as one of the most chosen tourist destinations in Argentina.

The winter holidays in the province will begin on Monday the 10th and will last until Friday the 21st of July, two weeks in which there will be a wide and attractive schedule of activities for all ages and tastes.

After a successful winter season in 2022, where 500,000 tourists visited the province, this year Córdoba is preparing with a large number of proposals to receive the thousands of people who will come to explore its beautiful landscapes, savor its gastronomy and learn about its rich legacy. Jesuit.

“The concentration takes place in the week of July 17 to 24 and there we assume we have full occupation. There are destinations that are more associated with summer, but expectations are always high. From Villa General Belgrano, passing through the capital and Carlos Paz, below is an overview with the best plans and prices to take advantage of the winter break in three of the most outstanding points in the province of Córdoba.

Villa General Belgrano

A must, and a classic for all winters, is the Alpine Chocolate Festival. The 39th edition of the festival will take place in Villa General Belgrano every Saturday and Sunday from July 8 to 30 in the Events and Conventions Hall (Julio A. Roca 168).

It is a very traditional event that celebrates chocolate at its best through cakes, chocolates, alfajores and the classic fondue with fruits. This year the proposal includes a tour of the "Camino del Chocolate" so that visitors can enjoy these cocoa-based sweetnesses in a vast diversity of aromas and flavors.  

In addition, other places to visit in Villa General Belgrano are the Historical Museum (open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and the Clock Tower, the best place to have an excellent panoramic view of the town. The challenge is to climb to the top, through 98 spiral staircase steps (open every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.).

Villa Carlos Paz

After one of the best seasons of the last 15 years, Villa Carlos Paz is preparing for another record winter. This destination in the Punilla Valley is highly chosen by both Cordovans and tourists from other provinces due to its wide tourist offer.

As for accommodation, there are options for all budgets. In Pinares del Cerro, a 4-star hotel with a spa, a Premium Club Living category room costs $222,675 for two people for three nights.

At the Amerian Hotel, from July 14 to 29, the minimum number of nights is 3. In this case, the rates for a one-bedroom apartment cost $38,000 from Sunday to Thursday and $44,000 on Friday and Saturday.

In another category is the Riviera Tower, where you can find a nightly rate of $25,680 paying by credit card or $21,600 paying in cash. The apartments have linens and are equipped with kitchen, refrigerator, air conditioning, microwave and corresponding dishes.

To eat, in Villa Carlos Paz you can find good options such as La Parrilla del Lago, where a barbecue for two is around $8,500, and IT! Italy Ristorante, where pasta dishes are around $3,000.

Cordoba capital

Under the motto "This winter enjoy Córdoba Capital", 'La Docta' invites tourists and locals to discover the myriad of attractions that the city will have for the winter season and the 450th anniversary of the City Foundation.

The city of Córdoba has always stood out for its cultural and architectural richness, its parks and green spaces, and now also for a renewed gastronomic proposal, with a boom in new restaurants and cafes to visit.

Among the most outstanding events on the agenda is the "Mercado Cordobés". On July 7, one of the most emblematic places in the provincial capital will offer social economy fairs, musical shows, live gastronomy and much more in the Supermanzana Mercado Norte.

In addition, from July 6 to 30 there will be free guided tours to retrace a hundred cultural, natural, historical spaces, products, experiences and collections that will provide added value when enjoying the city.

Other plans to schedule during these winter holidays in the city are the second edition of the Dos Mundos Baroque Music Festival, from July 6 to 29, and the second edition of Taninos Wine Fest, a unique oenological festival of its kind for being of the largest gathering of boutique winemakers in the country, on July 14.

From the “Movie Holidays” program with promotions for movie lovers, to the 77th edition of the Córdoba Flavors and Sweets Fair and many more events. There are a large number of activities and gastronomic proposals to enjoy in Córdoba during the winter holidays.
