BRAZTOA (Brazilian Association of Tour Operators) was in Brasilia last Tuesday, July 18, for visits and meetings at the Ministry of Tourism and Embratur, with the aim of presenting the entity's projects aimed at sustainability and development of the sector, through the perspective and experience of tour operators.
At the Ministry of Tourism, Fabiano Camargo, President of the Board of Directors of BRAZTOA, Marina Figueiredo, Executive President of BRAZTOA, and Roberto Haro Nedelciu, former President of BRAZTOA, welcomed Minister Celso Sabino and discussed possible alliances and future actions. "We had the rich opportunity to present and discuss relevant issues related to our sector since the beginning of his administration, in addition to greeting and congratulating Minister Celso Sabino, who offered to work with us in response to the demands of Tourism," said Fabiano Camargo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BRAZTOA.
The delegation was also received by Marcelo Lima Costa (SNPTUR Secretary), Leandro Luís de Jesus Gomes (DEQUA Director) and Rafaela Lehmann (General Coordinator CGCLIMA Sustainability and Climate Actions). During the meeting, the institutional support of the Ministry of Tourism for the Braztoa Sustainability Award was renewed, whose registrations for the 2023/24 edition are valid until August 21. "The support of the Ministry of Tourism, since the beginning of the award, has been of great importance, since it helps us to have an impact on the sustainability agenda in Brazilian tourism, encourages responsible practices and promotes sustainable development in Brazil, factors that improve the offer in the domestic market", celebrates Marina Figueiredo, executive president of BRAZTOA.
Also in Brasilia, the representatives of BRAZTOA were at Embratur with Marcelo Freixo (President of Embratur), Jaqueline Gil (Director of Marketing, Intelligence and Communication of Embratur), Monica Samia (Segmentation and Marketing Support Manager of Embratur) and Carina Câmara (Coordinator of Alliances and Market Development), who formalized, for the first time in 11 years, the institutional support for the Braztoa Award for Sustainability ibility. This association is in line with the agency's current work on sustainability, international promotion and the image of Brazilian tourism abroad.
“Embratur's support is fundamental and brings recognition beyond our borders to the Award and to the winning initiatives. With this, foreign tourists and the international community will be able to positively recognize the shelf of offers in Brazil, attracting conscious and responsible travelers, in addition to improving the image and reputation of Brazilian experiences and destinations”, adds Marina Figueiredo.
