The A321neo aircraft, registration XA-VUB, with capacity for 239 passengers, landed at the Mexico City International Airport and will serve the 40 new national routes that the airline inaugurated a few days ago.
"With this addition, we will offer more than 320 million additional seats per year and will strengthen our presence in secondary airports with great growth potential such as Mexicali (MXL), Bajío (BJX), Ciudad Juárez (CJS), Chihuahua (CUU), Culiacán (CUL), Los Mochis (LMM), Hermosillo (HMO) and Ciudad Obregón (CEN)," said Holger Blankenstein, Executive Vice President of Volaris.
With the aim of reducing the environmental impact of its operations, through the incorporation of state-of-the-art aircraft and a continuous fleet renewal plan, the company estimates that by 2028 all its aircraft will be NEO (currently 56% are of this model).
Volaris is the largest operator of Airbus A320neo family aircraft in Latin America, and has agreed to receive more than 140 Airbus NEO family aircraft in the coming years. This demonstrates the financial strength of Volaris and guarantees its growth in the Mexican market, as well as in air traffic to the United States and Central America.
Last June, the airline announced the inauguration of 40 new domestic routes, an unprecedented effort in the industry, which aims to unite poorly connected cities with leisure and business destinations in Mexico. With this, Volaris consolidates its position as the largest airline in the country.
