Air Canada announces enhancements to its products and services, adding more convenience to what you already use on your travels. Enhancements include expanded inflight food and beverage offerings to meet a variety of needs and tastes, more family-friendly options from the airline's award-winning library of inflight entertainment, as well as additional advancements to the Air Canada app.
These updates are the latest to be made by the airline as part of its "More to Travel" initiative, a series of ongoing improvements across its travel products and services.
"At Air Canada, we know that a comfortable and enjoyable inflight experience is an important part of our customers' journey," said Jacqueline Harkness, Air Canada's general manager of Products and Services. "We are delighted to offer more food and beverage options across a variety of tastes and preferences, including items not available on any Canadian airline today, as we continue to improve the overall Air Canada inflight experience."
More menu options to meet diverse tastes and needs
Introducing Earth's Own Oat Milk, a Canadian alternative to non-dairy milk, for the first time on a Canadian airline.
New popular drink options, such as:
Craft beers Blue Moon Belgian White and Hop Valley IPA, as well as Vizzy Strawberry Orange Mimosa Hard Seltzer.
Rosé de Provence, France and Aperol Spritz (Air Canada Signature Class on international flights).
Butter Chicken with Rice Pilaf and Cauliflower with Masala Peas are some of the new menu options available to Premium Economy and Economy customers on select flights.
More family fun with new content from Mattel
Last month, Skytrax named Air Canada the most family-friendly airline by 2023. Now, it will be the only Canadian airline to offer some of the most popular children's shorts for inflight entertainment thanks to an extensive collaboration with Mattel. The full suite of shows and movies adds dozens of hours of additional kids' content to Air Canada's award-winning inflight entertainment, with even more new content partners coming soon.
"Air Canada is proud to be the only Canadian airline to exclusively offer Mattel favorites such as Hot Wheels in the City, Thomas & Friends: Learning with Thomas, as well as episodes of the Barbie blog, which arrives right after the premiere the most anticipated movie of the summer," said John Moody, Air Canada's general manager of Product Design. "At the height of the family holiday season, parents and children alike can enjoy their flight with an unparalleled range of inflight entertainment options, including some of the most popular and beloved children's programming."
More convenience and more features for the Air Canada app
The latest updates to the Air Canada App, available for free through the Apple App Store or Google Play, provide quick and easy access to important travel information throughout your journey, including:
Easier to use mobile boarding passes at security and during boarding with seamless updates.
Aeroplan members' passport data linked to their profile, streamlining international billing.
Easier airport navigation with integrated maps of major Air Canada and Star Alliance airports.
Ability for Air Canada Signature Class and Premium Economy customers to pre-order inflight meals on select international flights departing from Canada.
"Our customers want digital information and tools that respond to their needs in real time when moving through congested airports. We focus on delivering contextual travel information directly to our customers' devices through our award-winning Air Canada App, with even more enhancements to come," said Derek Whitworth, Air Canada's general manager of Customer Digital Technology.
More to travel
Since the spring, Air Canada has been introducing product and service enhancements to the entire travel experience, with new ways to stay connected, lounge enhancements and much more. This includes a partnership with Bell, announced in May, that kicked off free inflight Wi-Fi text messaging for Aeroplan members.
The airline has also recently added three new airport lounges, bringing Air Canada's lounge network to 29 worldwide. This includes a new Maple Leaf Lounge at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), the new Aspire | Air Canada Café at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) in the convenient downtown Toronto terminal, and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) Terminal A co-located inside the new United Club. These initiatives are part of Air Canada's commitment to evolve its premium offering to provide the highest level of service and even more comfort and convenience to customers.
