MINTUR authorities participated in Salto de Camtur Conecta

The Minister of Tourism, Tabaré Viera, and the National Director of Tourism, Roque Baudean, participated in Salto in the cycle of talks organized by the Uruguayan Chamber of Tourism, an opportunity that served to learn about and value the proposals of the sector

In these instances, the agenda in which CAMTUR works was informed, and the articulation that is carried out with the different ministries, based on certain topics of interest: zero-rate VAT, partial unemployment insurance, etc. The joint work of CAMTUR and Ceres in relation to data collection was also reported.

The promotional actions planned and those that have already been carried out were also mentioned, in addition to the joint work and the support and financing of the Ministry of Tourism, with the importance of focusing on marketing and strengthening markets.

Likewise, the situation experienced by the tourism sector was analyzed, particularly in Salto, and in turn focused on the most important spa event worldwide: Termatalia 2023, which will take place from October 4 to 6 in Salto and Paysandú. . In this sense, a video of Arnaldo Nardone, advisor to the ministry and benchmark for MICE Tourism, was shown with the presentation of Termatalia and its meaning for Salto and Uruguay.

The Minister of Tourism, Tabaré Viera, referred to Termatalia and stressed that more than 20 countries will participate in this international fair and expressed that "we must all work together to prepare this great event." In addition, Viera stressed that this 21st edition will be the fifth held abroad, and the importance of recovering the alternation between Ourense (fixed venue when the event is held in Europe) and a country in America, in this case Salto and Paysandú, In uruguay.

In turn, various topics to work on were made visible: migrant labor, support for the sector that suffers the impact of the border situation and the evaluation of measures to encourage sports tourism, public-private governance and between institutions to work and prepare the Termas Destination, for Termatalia.

Finally, different realities of each of the institutions that make up the destination were raised and how they work to position the department in the Coastal Region, the improvement of national routes to strengthen connectivity and internal tourism, adventure tourism, sports tourism, the strengthening of the gastronomic sector through joint work with local producers, the cost of events and the difficulty of private events to carry them out.

In addition to the MINTUR authorities and the CAMTUR board of directors, operators, producers and service providers participated in this open meeting.
