Argentina stands, one more year, as one of the three most important markets globally in terms of sales of Civitatis, the leading company in the sale of guided tours and excursions in Spanish throughout the world.
The growth of the platform has accelerated the development of its operations in the country and, consequently, strengthens its work team in this market.
Within this framework, the company has just appointed its new Country Manager in Argentina, the first in its history in this country. This is Nicolas Posse, an expert in the tourism sector whose career path has been developed in leading companies in Argentina, Al Mundo, Biblos Travel & Avantrip.com and Ola Mayorista. His professional vocation, as he expresses it, has always been to "transform the travel experience" and as the new CM of Civitatis, he will put it into practice while leading and promoting the Southern Cone from Argentina.
“Civitatis has drawn up an important expansion plan for all of Latin America with bases in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Argentina. The mission I have in Argentina is an exciting challenge. The profile of an Argentine traveler has all the qualities to get the most out of Civitatis on their trips, and I will do my best to make them know us and count on us," said Posse, who will be in charge of the operation and exponential development of the platform in the country, not only in B2C, but also in B2B.
“Right now we work with more than 1,600 travel agencies in Argentina. Continuing to deploy Civitatis together with them and consolidating our position as a platform of reference activities in the travel agency sector is also my priority”, says Nicolás.
In 2022, six million travelers completed their trip with Civitatis, and this 2023, globally, the platform expects to grow this figure by 50%. Specifically, the Argentine market has experienced significant growth in the first half of 2023. Compared to the same period of the previous year, the number of Argentine customers who have opted for Civitatis activities to complete their trip around the world has doubled. Specifically, the increase has been 130%.
Along these lines, Alberto Gutiérrez, CEO and founder of Civitatis, highlighted that “In the company we see Latin America in general and Argentina in particular as markets with potential. Historically, Argentina is one of the “Top 3” most relevant markets for Civitatis in terms of sales, and the appointment of Nicolás is an important milestone in our strategy.”
It should be remembered that Civitatis is the leading online distribution company for guided tours, excursions and activities in Spanish in the main destinations in the world with more than 80,000 activities in 3,500 destinations spread over 150 countries.
In Argentina, the platform has more than 750 activities available for national and international tourists, divided into 72 destinations, which are found in all latitudes of the country, so much so that it is possible to book a tour of Bariloche, the excursion to the Glacier Perito Moreno, a tour of vineyards and wineries in Mendoza or enter the Argentine side of Iguazú Falls.
