Lovers of open water competitions will have a new appointment at Oceanman Curaçao, athletes of different ages will be able to participate and enjoy the most important international swimming event that brings together swimmers from all over the world, mainly from Colombia and that will take place next 7 and October 8th.
Oceanman, has been carried out with great success in more than thirty countries such as: Spain, Indonesia, Greece, Switzerland, Italy, France, Ecuador, Mexico and in Colombia in cities such as Cartagena and San Andrés. Precisely Colombia, has established itself as one of the countries that competes the most in this type of sporting event, which demonstrates the great skills, passion and resistance of Colombian swimmers.
The event will take place for the first time in the Caribbean Sea, Curaçao being the chosen destination thanks to its natural beauty, more than 35 incredible beaches and crystal clear azure waters ideal for swimming. The competition will take place on the renowned Cas Abao beach, which has very calm waters and offers all the conditions for this incredible aquatic adventure.
The participants of the event will be able to participate in categories such as; Ocean kids in which children from 7 to 12 years old will cover distances of 300 or 500 meters, Sprint distance of 2 kilometers, Half OCEANMAN with 5 kilometers and OCEANMAN 10 kilometers, this last distance being the queen test. This amateur race is aimed at experienced swimmers, but people who are swimmers can participate.
Currently, Colombia has the Oceanman world champion who is David Carrillo and according to statistics, 55% of the participants are men and 45% women respectively, which denotes that every day more people join this type of sporting event. The winners of each category in Oceanman Curaçao will be able to participate in the classification of the Oceanman grand final that takes place once a year, and this time it will be in Bali.
The event will have the support of Xportiva, an organization specialized in the design and production of high-level sporting events, and which selected the island as the ideal destination in the Caribbean to carry out the competition.
