Winter 2023: more than 200,000 tourists chose Río Negro in July

With the Andean destinations as the undisputed protagonists, 212,735 tourists arrived in the province in July to experience unforgettable vacations in different parts of the territory, generating an economic impact of $30,504,551,947 and great expectations for the coming month

In this sense, Bariloche with its wide range of activities became the most chosen destination at the provincial level, with 95% occupancy of its places and reservation rates that climbed to 90% for August. The figure remained constant throughout the month, thus also positioning itself as one of the favorite tourist sites nationwide.

On the other hand, according to data collected by the Tourism Observatory of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, in the Andean region, El Bolsón also received a large influx of tourists, with 25% occupancy that increased to 45% in the second fortnight. and peaks of up to 75% in cabins and apartments during the third week of the month. The figures were in line with the winter holidays, marking a growing trend that reaffirms the city as an emerging snow destination that is among the most chosen places in Río Negro.

For her part, Dina Huapi also experienced a good flow of travelers at her destination with 85% hotel occupancy, a very good figure for this time of year.

In this regard, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Diego Cannestraci, said that "we finished a very good July, with a very high occupancy level both in Bariloche, with characteristic products and experiences among which the magnificent Cerro Catedral stands out, as well as El Bolsón which in recent times has consolidated very strongly as a winter destination, benefiting from the opening of Cerro Perito Moreno”.

In addition, the provincial official added that "we are very happy with the results of this season, it is a time that we look forward to and that gives meaning to the entire service chain because more jobs are generated and our regional economies are mobilized. Now we are expectant since we estimate that August will be very similar, or even a little more visited due to the number of flights that are expected, which is excellent news for the region”.

Tourism lands in Bariloche

According to data provided by Aeropuertos 2000, 957 flights are scheduled to arrive next month to the Andean town, few more than those that arrived during July (922), generating high expectations due to the extension of the winter season since the constant arrival of tourists throughout the month with about 30 daily arrivals, of which 80% come from the Federal Capital and the province of Buenos Aires.

Most of the trips correspond to national destinations, being the main emissive center Buenos Aires, followed by Córdoba, Rosario, Mendoza, Viedma, Mar del Plata, Tucumán, Salta and Bahía Blanca. While the arrival of flights from San Pablo, Brazil, and Santiago de Chile is also scheduled.

Winter is also lived by the sea

On the Atlantic Coast, Las Grutas with its impressive natural charms and the sighting of marine fauna as one of the most promising activities was also among the places chosen by those visitors who came to Río Negro, reaching 32% of their places.

On the other hand, Viedma and El Cóndor also received a significant influx of tourists who chose the provincial capital and its surrounding beaches to enjoy an unparalleled rest, with 24% occupancy.
