The winter season in San Carlos de Bariloche is showing very positive figures. It is that the iconic city of Patagonia has become an epicenter of visits for all the tourist attractions and activities it offers throughout the year. When choosing tourist destinations, Bariloche is the most recurring option for thousands of travelers. Its mythical landscapes, its activities and its gastronomy make it a highly attractive city to visit.

The city, which has an offer of 31,000 beds, achieved a record number in the arrival of thousands of tourists, thus achieving a hotel occupancy of 95% in winter holidays, generating an economic impact of $69,987 million pesos. 

Tourists came to the town to enjoy the different attractions such as Cerro Catedral, which sheltered some 15,000 people daily, Piedras Blancas 2,500, Cerro Otto 2,200, Cerro Campanario 1,600, the incredible lake excursions 1,700 daily, or simply the different excursion options. terrestrial to enjoy the emblematic landscapes of Argentine Patagonia.

According to data from the Ministry of Tourism, they indicate that Bariloche received some 348,000 tourists between July and August, registering 1,633,700 overnight stays. On average, visitors stay in the city from 4 to 7 nights. This tourist movement generated an estimated economic impact of $69,978 million pesos.

“We have made Bariloche the destination with the most air connectivity in the country, having more than 30 daily flights, direct connection with 12 destinations without having to go through Buenos Aires, such as Mendoza, Rosario, Salta, Tucumán, Córdoba, El Calafate, Viedma , Mar del Plata and Puerto Madryn nationwide, said Gastón Burlón, Secretary of Tourism of Bariloche, adding: "we also have international flights that connect us directly with Brazil from the city of San Pablo" through 11 weekly frequencies, 3 weekly frequencies with Santiago de Chile and also charter operators that connect us with Uruguay.

The interest of neighboring countries in the city has expanded remarkably in recent years. 

"Within the influx of tourists, we have a large number of visitors from Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, as a result of negotiations with airlines, promotional actions that we carry out together with them, tour operators and participation in fairs international tourism," added Burlón.

In the months of July and August, almost 2,000 flights arrived in the Andean town, according to data provided by Aeropuertos 2000, this generates expectations due to the extension of the winter season, since the constant arrival of tourists is expected during the month of September with about 27 daily arrivals, representing more than 20% than in 2022. Then we enter the spring months where demand continues very well and we are transforming into a totally different destination.

Being Bariloche the "National Capital of Adventure Tourism" you can enjoy outdoor walks and hikes along marked trails; canopy, rafting, sailing on Lake Nahuel Huapi, horseback riding accompanied by a unique landscape, disembarking in the Bosques de Arrayanes or visiting the Cascada de los Cántaros and many more activities.

These indicators once again confirm Bariloche's leadership, not only in Patagonia but in the country, with historical data regarding the number of tourists, air connectivity and service offerings.
