SKY announces two new destinations from Santiago: Montevideo and Salvador de Bahía

In relation to the new route to Montevideo, the company plans to transfer 3,000 passengers per month to the Uruguayan capital with 3 weekly frequencies

As part of its expansion strategy in Latin America, the low cost SKY announced new routes to make the sky available to everyone, connecting Santiago with Montevideo and from the Uruguayan capital to Salvador de Bahía in Brazil. This last city joins the
four destinations that the airline already operates in the South American giant.

Within the framework of its 22nd anniversary, the airline announced the launch of these routes that will strengthen its continental presence and that will make Uruguay the ninth country where SKY will operate, linking Santiago with Montevideo in 2 hours and 15 minutes direct way. The flights will begin operating on January 2, 2024 and will allow the transfer of 3,000 passengers a month between the two cities, on the least polluting airline in the region, since it has the newest fleet in South America, according to CH-Aviation.

In parallel, SKY passengers will be able to continue their journey from the Chilean capital via Montevideo to Salvador de Bahía in just over 4 hours and enjoy the second most popular tourist destination in Brazil after Rio de Janeiro.

Along these lines, these new routes that we are presenting today are a unique opportunity to expand our network,” said Julio Solar, deputy manager of strategic planning at SKY Airline.

As part of this launch, SKY launched promotional fares to these new destinations between August 31 and September 8, 2023:
Santiago-Montevideo: from $47,880 (+$21,375 taxes) for one-way flights between January 2 and June 30, 2024 Santiago-Montevideo-Salvador de Bahía: from $85,500 (+$21,375 taxes) for a one-way flight between January 2 and June 30, 2024

In parallel, SKY will also add the Lima-Montevideo and Lima-Montevideo-Florianópolis routes with three weekly frequencies, which shows the airline's commitment to continue strengthening its presence in the region.
