In this meeting, which will take place on September 10 and 11, the participation of 40 internationally renowned companies is expected. The event also reinforces public policies focused on respect for the environment, in line with the New Agreement for Well-being and Development.
The setting for this exhibition will be the Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa hotel, where environmental technologies, social and productive projects, as well as bioarchitecture and the use of natural materials will be presented, which promises to be a window towards the sustainable future of the sector.
The participation of business chambers such as COPARMEX, CNET, AMEXME and AMPI, together with academic institutions such as the CIIEMAD of the National Polytechnic Institute and tour operators such as Viajes Itzaa, ensure that this event is a catalyst for decision-making and agreements that guide the business community. of Mexico towards the sustainable development goals and the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
The Sustainable Tourism Expo is positioned as a national platform that seeks to link needs with solutions, addressing sustainability in a transversal way, since it is a responsibility shared by all.
Events like this directly impact the value chain and consumption habits for both locals and tourists. These meetings generate a substitution of less environmentally friendly products with more efficient and friendly alternatives, being an opportunity for the hotel industry to be more sustainable and use local production in its operation.
Regarding the event program, activities such as networking, business tables, presentation of tourism products from different states of the country are contemplated, and the participation of international speakers with relevant topics such as "Financial models for sustainable development."
A notable aspect is the presence of the state of Chiapas, headed by Jeannette Guevara, Director of Viajes Itzaa. At its stand, regional treasures and products that represent the wealth of southern Mexico will be exhibited.
"The stand of the state of Chiapas at the Sustainable Tourism Expo will be a true showcase of the rich diversity that our region has to offer. We want to provide visitors with an immersive experience in our culture and traditions, and to achieve this, we have prepared a series of activities and exhibitions that highlight the essence of Chiapas so that you can experience it with your 5 senses, with tastings of traditional food and drinks, workshop experiences, and we will have paintings on canvas which will create a spectacular stand, decorated with sedge, the smell to copal and the canvases of Chiapas artists," commented Jeannette Guevara, Director of Viajes Itzaa.
"At our stand, attendees will be able to enjoy tastings of emblematic Chiapas distillates, such as Comiteco and Pox, which are representative of our rich cultural heritage. These tastings will not only allow visitors to enjoy unique flavors, but also understand the story behind each distillate and its importance in our traditions," added Guevara.
"But the experience does not stop there. We have also prepared sustainable tourism plans that highlight the natural beauty and biodiversity of Chiapas. From impressive tours of Canto del Agua to routes that explore our natural reserves and indigenous communities, we seek to show how it is possible to enjoy of the beauty of Chiapas in a responsible and sustainable way," continued Guevara.
"And, of course, we cannot leave aside Chiapas craftsmanship, which is a reflection of the skill and creativity of our local artisans. At our stand, visitors will be able to admire and purchase a variety of authentic crafts, such as hand-made textiles , traditional ceramics and unique pieces that capture the essence of Chiapas, some companies that are present are: CASA NA TEXTILES, ÁMBAR, CANTO DEL AGUA, CIIDES ESCUELA EN SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS, POXNA, LEÑATEROS, GALLERÍA CORAZON (CHIAPANECO ART) MUDO and COMITECO, among others.
