Quito Tourism invites tourism industry actors to participate on September 20 in the keynote conference '2023 Trends in the MICE industry from a North American perspective' given by American expert Tammy Kockaya, current senior director of product innovation at the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), the world's largest community for business event strategists.
Kockaya is recognized for her more than 20 years of experience in the events industry. She has collaborated as an internal corporate meetings professional, meeting planner and leader in the organization of global conferences.
In addition to the keynote conference, an interactive workshop on strategies and tools for event planners will be held; both activities will be held in the Mont Blanc room at the Swissotel.
These events seek to promote strategic alliances with leading international organizations in the MICE industry such as PCMA and project Quito as a destination prepared to receive international events, with qualified service providers.
It is estimated that the MICE industry generates three to seven times more revenue than traditional leisure or pleasure tourism. Each business tourist spends approximately USD 680 per day for international meetings, and USD 450 per day for Latin American events with an average stay of five days.
The activities have an impact on various sectors such as: lodging, food, transportation, advertising, decoration, floriculture, communication, among others.
