Embratur and the Brazilian Association of Travel Agencies (ABAV) invited representatives of tour operators from 15 countries to participate in the ABAV Hosted Buyers Club Program. The 50 selected buyers will participate in the 50th edition of ABAV Expo, which will take place between September 27 and 29, in Rio de Janeiro. The choice was based on technical criteria, giving priority to the main issuing markets.

The group of buyers, which operates in the tourism sector in the US, Mexico, Bolivia, Argentina, the United Kingdom, Uruguay, Peru, Colombia, Paraguay, Chile, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Poland and Italy, arrives first in Brazil . Starting on the 23rd, they will participate in familiarization trips (famtours) to better understand the tourist attractions of Foz de Iguaçu (PR) and other cities in Rio de Janeiro, in addition to the capital, which they already sell or can place in their sales . strategies.

“It will be an opportunity for these professionals who sell packages to Brazil abroad to discover new destinations in Rio, allowing the diversification of products and encouraging an increase in the number of foreign tourists staying in our country. The idea is that the tourist who comes to discover our Wonderful City also chooses to discover the diversity of sun and beach attractions along the entire coast, our natural and historical heritage, such as Paraty, and our ecotourism and adventure tourism in the National Parks". , explained Marcelo Freixo, president of Embratur.

The guests will also participate in training promoted by the Embratur technical team. In the workshops, the Agency will present the diversity of Brazilian tourist destinations that welcome foreigners, especially nature, adventure and experience tourism. The intention is to show that, in addition to sun and sand, Brazil is rich in biodiversity, a topic that will also be addressed in the next Embratur campaigns in Latin America and Europe.

During the three days of ABAV Expo 2023, the 50 buyers will also have meetings and business rounds with the fair's exhibitors, with the aim of promoting Brazilian tourism products and services.

“ABAV Expo is considered the largest event in the Brazilian tourism market and one of the most important in the Latin American calendar, held in Brazil, the largest tourism market in the region. Therefore, we continue working to achieve the main objective of ABAV Expo, which is to promote tourism and expand the culture and diversity of our country beyond its borders. For three days, the 50th Edition will host a great business, relationship and training environment, with technological innovations and ESG actions. It is a moment of optimism for Destino Brazil,” adds the president of ABAV Nacional, Magda Nassar.

According to Embratur's International Events and Markets manager, Bruno Reis, ABAV's Hosted Buyers Club Program has the potential to achieve business in the tourism sector.

“Operators seek to establish relationships with entrepreneurs and destinations, generating new sales opportunities, networking and increasing the visibility of the national tourism product. The idea is to promote a more focused opportunity for the marketing of Brazilian tourist destinations, services and products to buyers in the international market,” he highlighted.

Camaraderie

The arrival of international tourism buyers, from the world's main operators, is the result of an alliance between Embratur and the Brazilian Association of Travel Agencies (ABAV). For the president of Embratur, Marcelo Freixo, the fair is an international showcase of Brazilian tourist destinations.

“ABAV Expo is an opportunity in which the country's main destinations will be present, so bringing large foreign buyers makes a lot of sense and brings great returns to our country. It means providing business opportunities, which will bring more foreign tourists and generate more jobs and income,” he reinforced.

ABAV Expo brings together around 1,500 brands, including tour operators, hotel chains and boutique hotels, shipping companies, airlines, attractions, theme parks, technology companies, national and international destinations, among others.

“The continuity of the Guest Buyer Program and its expansion is part of the objectives of ABAV National and ABAV Expo is a means that we use to promote the visit of these international partners to the Brazilian market. As an entity that promotes Tourism at different ends, we offer this unique opportunity both to the host destination to promote knowledge of its attractions to this public and to the exhibitors of the entire Tourism chain to begin the internationalization of their products at the event." explains the president of ABAV National, Magda Nassar.

Other international buyers interested in joining the ABAV Buyers Club must fill out their details on this page of the ABAV Expo website.
