This meeting is held to exchange points of view on aeropolitics, legal and financial challenges and best practices facing the aeronautical industry in the region.
The Minister of Tourism, Niels Olsen, indicated that this conference is presented as an opportunity to address topics of interest regarding the evolution of the industry. “In the case of Ecuador, it will be a space to publicize the progress in the generation of policies to promote air connectivity for tourism purposes,” he said, mentioning actions such as the elimination of the ISD charge for airlines, the reduction of the Eco Delta and Tourist Power contribution rates, the signing of Open Skies agreements with the United States and Panama.
The Executive Director and CEO of ALTA, José Ricardo Botelho, highlighted that bringing the conference to Ecuador marks an important milestone in a year in which the country has taken intelligent and effective measures that encourage the development of the airline sector for the benefit of Ecuadorians. “Aviation is a powerful engine of socioeconomic growth, generating not only direct jobs in the industry, but also activating an extensive value chain and opportunities that pass through other industries such as construction, services, tourism, culture, food, even everyday life. of a taxi driver waiting for travelers at the airport, markets, crafts and much more. Some of the topics that will be discussed during the three-day meeting are air regulations; climate change and sustainable practices; improving and promoting connectivity, among others.
This conference also becomes a platform to present Ecuador as an interesting destination for the development of air connectivity events.
The National Government promotes the development of events that promote the exchange of experiences to improve the competitiveness and connectivity of Ecuador with the world, and thus attract more visitors to the country.
