Two good news received the gastronomic and fermented beverage sector. The first was the obtaining of four medals by Sinners Microbrewery during the World Beer Awards global competition, in London. The second good news was the triumph of chef Cristian Arroba Ríos in the VI edition of the World Paella Day Cup in Valencia – Spain.

The brewery won a gold medal for its 'Gula' beer, a Double Chocolat Milk Stout style made with Paccari cocoa nibs, bits of roasted natural cocoa seed, a silver medal for Cappuccino Sweet Stout made with high-altitude coffee from Loja, and two bronze medals with Coco Ginger IPA and with 'Envidia' of Ecuadorian Specialty Saison style made with quinoa, jora, lemon verbena and avocado flowering honey.

Sinners Microbrewery receives these recognitions for the second time in a contest in which more than two thousand beers representing 50 countries of the world participated.

Cristian Arroba Ríos is the owner of the Maitane and Bizi Bizi restaurants. He reached the vice world championship after preparing the traditional Valencian dish with Ecuadorian products such as Andean black pork, high altitude sunfo, coastal beans and other ingredients that allowed his paella to be considered one of the World's greatest.

The World Paella Day Cup was held in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento with the presence of chefs from countries such as Poland, Morocco, Japan, the United States, Germany, Colombia and other nations. The preparation of the dishes was carried out with the presence of the Valencian public who could enjoy the preparation directly. The participation of the Quito chef was recognized and applauded by those present.
