Colombia's international air connectivity is showing great progress, which is a relevant aspect that encourages the visit of new travelers. A highly supportive trend, due to the drive towards diversification of the economy, investment, generation of foreign exchange, promotion, reputation and tourist image of the country.
ANATO, according to data from ProColombia, estimates that in September 2023, 1,204 direct international weekly frequencies were registered, which means an increase of 6% compared to the same month in 2022.
“The good air connectivity and the work of the Travel Agencies promoting the attractions of the different destinations in our country are allowing more foreign visitors to visit us and for Colombians who reside abroad to come to rediscover their territory. In line with the National Government's campaign: Colombia, the country of beauty, we are making more travelers know about us, about the richness of our destinations and we are awakening interest in carrying out more investment projects and of course increasing entry. of foreign exchange,” said Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO.
In fact, the international regions that have been showing the greatest growth in their international air connectivity are Europe, with 16%; South America, with 7%; Caribbean and Central America, with 4%; and North America, with 3%.
"Regarding national air connectivity, we consider that its recovery is on the right track, allowing us to reach all of the country's destinations again, in this way contributing to the strengthening of the tourist offer of the Travel Agencies." Said the union leader.
