Due to the complications that the road that connects Villavicencio with Bogotá has presented and with the objective of guaranteeing connectivity between Meta and the center of the country, Avianca announced that it will continue to extend its operation with two daily flights until October 7.

Since August 23, the airline went from operating a regular daily flight to two flights a day (one regular flight and one additional flight) between Bogotá and Villavicencio with a total supply of 720 seats per day. In addition, it confirmed that it maintains unchanged the tariff ceiling established and maintained without interruption since July 20 - when the first emergency occurred -, which includes fees and taxes, which weigh around 25% of the total value.

The additional flights that Avianca has added between Bogotá and Villavicencio in recent months are intended to address the crisis and contribute to connectivity to and from the east of the country.

It is worth remembering that, since October 29, and responding to requests from local authorities, Avianca operates two regular daily flights between the capital of Meta and Bogotá.

“Air connectivity for this area of the country is essential to increase connectivity in Colombia. Therefore, as a result of the crisis that has occurred on the road that connects Bogotá with Villavicencio, we have extended our flights to this city in order to maintain connectivity to and from the eastern plains. We listened to the region and announced that this capacity will be maintained permanently, with or without crisis on the road, starting at the end of October. It is time for everyone to work to ensure that these flights are successful and continue to connect Meta beyond the current situation,” said Felipe Andrés Gómez, director of International Relations and Sustainability at Avianca.
